I think its fake. but i wouldn't be shocked if Miles was in the movie. i just don't see them taking their time to do the Miles story the way people would like. they will just jump into it. and what better way than in a spiderverse movie.

I don't see McConaughey as Norman Osborn.

I could have seen him better as Harvey Dent back when that was rumored (wouldn't be my first choice for Dent either, but could see it more than Norman).

Honestly, if they're gonna use the Norman Osborn / Green Goblin at some point down the line, I'd prefer they bring back Willem Dafoe. Maybe Chris Cooper if Dafoe isn't available.

Apparently a certain scooper said via their Patreon that Sony is considering more solo movies for Tobey and Andrew as well now. Can you imagine that? I'd like to start seeing some answers to some of these things here in the coming months.

Maybe Raimi and co didn't have the right idea for a SM4 10 years ago, but what if they had a shot now with the landscape being in a different place?

Edit: I see you guys were already talking about this pages ago now lol.

As I said before, I really don't think this is happening.

I dunno, given how Sony likes to ride the wave with pretty much everything I can see them wanting to bring back old franchise actors in the coming years cause Warner is doing it. People were hyped about Keaton and Affleck returning, probably more we don't know about yet (and we don't know what the heck Marvel is doing with their multiverse plans).

Yea but they are returning to appear in a Flash movie dealing with multiverse shenanigans, not their own solo movies. It's one thing if Tobey and/or Andrew appear cause of a Spider-Verse movie, its an entirely different thing to expect them to be continuing either one of their solo series.

As much as I'll glady take a solo Maguire film over a solo Holland film, that's just overkill with the given Venom-verse and all the movies they're developing for that branch.

I wouldn't put anything past Sony. Fans forget alot of the out there Spiderman plans and ideas that were leaked during the Sony hack.

Sony doesn't have the restraint Feige and Marvel do when it comes to ideas and developing projects.

I actually kinda think if a live action Spiderverse film is happening, its so Feige can do it right ,as opposed to Sony trying it and fumbling.

I don't know about a Maguire solo film, but McConaughey has been rumored for Osborn for a few years now.

The guy is a great actor ,so I'd have zero issue with him giving a new take on Norman Osborn.

McConaughey could do a great job as Osborn.

I wouldn't be against McConaughey as Green Goblin. He could even start of as an Iron-man wannabe with a refurbished Iron-patriot armour then descend into madness with the Green Goblin persona over a couple of movies.

They would have to introduce Harry too though. I'm a bit worried about that given how not only TASM2 messed that up, but the mcu have similarly put off establishing these characters so far and their own track record on Peter's supporting cast is abysmal too.

This still doesn't guarantee that he or Garfield will appear. I'm hopeful though.

I didn't either until I watched The Gentleman. McConaughey would be a great Osborn

Gonna go ahead and file this under “**** I just ain’t buying”, but...

There are some fans who are resistant to a Spiderverse Spiderman 3, but for the most part, the response from the fan community has been excitement at the prospect.

If Spider-verse does happen, it'll be a great marketing tool to appeal to the GA as well as fandom.
I'll try again. Do you think unfinshed projects or suggested casting that never saw the light of day, can be as canon in the multiverse as the films we got?

There's been rumours about Tom Cruise to cameo as "another" Tony Stark in Dr Strange 2, and Nicholas Cage finally playing his/Burton's version of Superman (in the upcoming Flashpoint).
Just rumours but still exciting to think about.

Then what about James Cameron's Spider-Man? Starring DiCaprio?

It's beyond believable. What can we have done to deserve such heavenly stuff we couldn't even imagine in our wildest dreams? More solo films with Tobey and also more solo films with Andrew. Does it even mean that both of them can join the Avengers at different stages (but one at the time)?
But to use a funny CBM wording here. The previous actors returning to their different takes on the character, are not the Spider-Men we deserve, but the Spider-Men we need. :ali:

It's awesome, great, fantastical, incredible.
Of course we can have Raimi's Spider-Man 4 NOW. With Tobey and Dunst returning.
And Bruce Campbell in a big role this time.
The old script would only needs some slight tweeks to fit in with today.

As the superhero movie nerd I am, I would also approve of Burton's Superman finally being done. Heck, I even WANT that.
Use that glowing suit, but recast the character with a younger actor.
Wait, what about Nicholas Cage?
Let him appear in a newly added scene at the end. It's in the future, he's looking back at the events of the film.

Wasn't it rumoured/claimed that Keaton will do more appearances later, and be the "official" Batman of DCU, mentoring younger heroes?

It's been rumoured he would be their Nick Fury. I took that to mean there would still be a younger Batman running around being a hero while Keaton played the mentor role.

The short answer to your question is , it's possible. As a fan ,I'm done saying " This absolutely won't or can't happen!", especially now. Whether its probable ,remains to be seen.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Cruise rumor is true and that he has a brief cameo as another Tony Stark.

I could also see Nic Cage having a cameo as Superman in Flashpoint. I doubt he'd turn down that opportunity if offered.

I think that the Crisis CW producers did ask Cage to appear as Superman before, so it's at least in the realm of possibility .

I think DiCaprio appearing as Spiderman would be a real long shot, but it would be pretty cool nevertheless if it happened.

A little off topic from Spider-Verse speculation but how would anyone feel about maybe making the new suit more similar to the Raimi and ASM2 suits?

While I think the MCU suits have been faithful so far they feel more "cartoonish" to me than a translation to film should be.

They could use the raised webbing and material for example but keep the eyes, Spider-Logo and colour pattern from previous MCU appearances.

Funny, in the upcoming 2022 Flash movie Barry Allen will take inspiration from Grant Gustin's version for his new suit after their meeting. Maybe Tom Holland could do the same after meeting Maguire and Garfield?
