Guys ... The Raimi trilogy is arguably my favourite trilogy of all time, alongside the Indiana Jones trilogy.
I will prodably have a heart attack if I ever see Tobey's Spider-Man on screen ... the idea that he may have a cameo is killing me of pure excitiment. Heck, even if he is a 1-second cameo, I really can't wait to know if he is in it or not. I want to know ... NOW!

Spider-man is still a teen and i suspect while he is in the MCU he will stay a teen. so yeah he will play the naive kid who reacts with grounded comical amazement.

He is a kid. how else can be iron man? or secret agent spider-man? or multiverse travel spider-man? you need the adults to help with that.

I mean, I'm still skeptical but yes it does seem likely it's leaning more in that direction.

I'd be more skeptical if it was just Foxx who was cast in SM3.

Without a confirmation that he was playing the same Electro from ASM2 , it could still be argued that they weren't leaning into the multiverse.

But with Foxx's casting, the fact that the next Strange film is Multiverse of Madness, and that Strange is going to appear in SM3, it'd have to be a heck coincidence , and Feige doesn't do things by accident or coincidence.

At the same time, we know Sony is and has interested in the multiverse concept with Spiderman specifically. They already had an animated film which established one exists .

You add to that, the inclusion of Simmons and Foxx from two different Spiderman franchises infers that there are alternate versions of these characters in other universes.

If anything, the Simmons casting in hindsight makes me think the Feige and Sony may have been toying with the idea of a multiverse for longer than we know. In other words , his casting was not "Just for fun" .

The live action multiverse is coming to Marvel and Sony . That's not even a question for me at this point.

The question is more when it happens, not if it's gonna happen.

It may not happen in SM3 at the end of the day, it looks like that's were they're headed.

Its gotta be for SM3. you got doctor strange there and his next film is the multiverse of madness. there is no better time to do it then while that door is open.

For as much as people are complaining about the mentor angle, I feel like Far From Home had almost none of that...?

“Fury” certainly wasn’t used in the same capacity that Tony was.

It didn't, but I still wasn't a fan of how so much of Mysterio's motivation came from his hatred of Tony Stark just because they had to find somekind of way to include Tony Stark's influence in the movie. I know some people didn't have a problem with it, but it felt super forced to me and is one of the weaker aspects of that movie IMO.

I aggree about the mentor aspect in Far From Home. For me the problem was that both movies were too Stark-centered. Everything revolved around him and his tech. I thought it wouldn't be the case in the second one but unfortunately the issue remained even posthumous.

Indeed. It's really now or never, with all those stuff.
I mean, sure Foxx casting raises some theories that it may just have been a recast, but now with Doctor Strange in the movie, it would be some weird coincidence.

The weird thing for me is that Sam Raimi is directing Benedict as Doctor Strange, who happens to star in the third MCU Spider-Man movie LOL

Doctor Strange is probably the guy who is gonna fix Peter identity reveal. but it involves peter needing to do something to make it happen. involving the multiverse.

I kinda feel like the exposed identity thing might get resolved early in SM3. Dr. Strange will agree to help Peter and they'll bring Andrew's Spidey into this universe in order to convince the public that MCU Peter is just a regular kid who was framed by Mysterio. Electro uses his powers to follow Andrew's Spidey into the MCU and probably busts open a portal that allows others to pass through.

Sony gets their Sinister Six and live action Spider-Verse all in one go.

Or they just put Cumberbatch in this so he can keep Garfield from spoiling everything during the press tour lol.

Well if they do multivese. the question is will it be just andrew and toby back... or do they plan on also introducing more Spider-men?

I do sorta wonder whether Spiderwomen or spidergwen will be involved. given marvels current stance. i could see that happening. all Men and no spiderwomen? i don't buy it.

I have full faith in Andrew and Stone hitting a Spider-Man/Spider-Gwen scene out of the park.

Finally, Peter gets a third goatee-mentor!

Taking some inspiration from one of the worst Spidey stories of recent memory, One Moment in Time. But yeah, doing something where Peter has to be more active in resetting it would be a good choice.

Dr. Strange is going to fill the role of Iron Man and Skull Fury in the first two Home movies. Though I eXpect this to be related to the multiverse thingy.

Doctor Strange being in this pretty much confirms a connection to the multiverse. I still think since this comes first as of now it will be more connected to Wandavision than to DS2

Maybe a multiverse trilogy of sorts?

People are speculating that WandaVision, SM3 and Multiverse of Madness might be it. But we'll see.

Can the multiverse go beyond doctor strange 2? i gather it closes with Doctor strange 2.

I mean wouldn't it be kind of strange to set all this multiverse stuff only to have explored in just three MCU films? I'm not saying they will do it or that I expect it, but you could honestly have a whole phase of MCU films surrounding the Multiverse and I wouldn't even be bothered by it. Just thinking of the endless possibilities has me excited.

I wonder if the film was changed to become a more multiverse story with the big gap in release between WandaVision and Doctor Strange 2.

Depends if there is anything else worth telling with it.

It severely hurt the second film. And I wouldn't be surprised to see more of it in the 3rd.

Well outside of one scene in FFH, Peter was a passive protagonist.

I thought the mentor angle was better in FFH. I don't think it will go overboard here. Seems like with all that's going on, it won't be Stark heavy.
