Thats EXACTLY what im thinking my friend. In Raimi’s world, Doc Ock is alive and Tobey-Spidey is battling him, Holland-Spidey arrives and gets in the middle of it. On Webb’s world Electro is back and new and improved etc and Andrew-Spidey is still mourning over Gwen, Etc etc

Holland Spidey meets each alternate Spiderman for a bit before the big climax where both Spider-men then go to MCU earth to stop this big threat.

There is a good chance it won't be jumping universes though. the evidence is kinda there to support the theory that the MCU is gonna be the multiverse.

I mean if we go by what Wandavison is setting up. you could possibly guess how its gonna end.

Dude i can literally picture it, Holland Spidey arrives in Raimi NYC, hes disoriented, looks around and things dont quite look like HIS NYC, and all of a sudden the six armed lunatic starts attacking him thinking its HIS Spiderman. He gets overwhelmed and then out of nowhere Tobey Spidey swoops in, saves Holland and says, “hey kid, you all right? Nice costume, but you know Halloween was two months ago right?”

The opening night theater crowd goes WILD.
This the dream...

I can't shake the feeling any possible multiverse content will be a lot more underwhelming and not at all as grand or important to the story as fans want it to be.

Prove me wrong Marvel Studios.

Right, but we still got a first trailer. Venom 2 also had no trailer, and that is set for earlier as of now. So I think it's definitely more about Sony waiting to see how things develop.
I'm not referring to a trailer though, I think it's way too soon for that. More like officially confirming whether or not Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are in this movie, especially with these last two episodes Wandavision potentially kickstarting the MCU multiverse arc with some cameos
and stating whether or not Evan Peters' Quicksilver is truly from the Foxverse or not.

Yeah i don't think its gonna end up as grand as people think. at least not in the individual crossover element. mostly because id bet they are going even bigger than just 3 spider-men.

And the more you add, the less you include. the more you just glorify what is left.

To be fair, the marketing kept painting Mysterio as a hero until the movie came out. So they may just let people experience it.

GuestStar, I swear, every time I read one of your posts on here, you're always disagreeing with everyone no matter the topic.

I'll scream!

I have a very grounded mentality. even if i don't like something, i'l still state it if there is evidence for it. just because i want something to happen doesn't mean its realistic to actually happen given the circumstances.

Will Spider-man will be jumping universes? i say that would be ignoring Wandavision and Multiverse of madness that Spider-man 3 is sandwiched between. and that Quicksilver in Wandavision might give a clear sign of what to expect and that JJ might also possibly be one

Would it be cool to have him jump univeses? yeah that sounds cool. a very bold crossover. but you can't buy something without the money to back it up.

Plus, they have the upper hand... last time they under-achieved was with Quicksilver.

Go all in, considering DC will be biting at their heals with multiverse type stuff in The Flash.

Wandavision also still has 2 episodes remaining. Big things may still happen. We shall see

I'm gonna have to severely disagree with that notion. I can't realistically picture Sony of all companies entirely withholding Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield from the marketing if they are in this movie, especially when they spoiled Adrian Toomes as a stinger in the Morbius trailer.

As for the Mysterio thing... everyone pretty much expected him to turn out to be villain when they went to watch it, so it's not like it was a mindblowing twist.

I dont see this as any more complicated than Homecoming referring to him being in the MCU or No Way Home having some kind of universe shenanigans.

Homecoming.

The high school age Peter's first film in the MCU's story culminates on the night of homecoming at his school.

Homecoming as high school ref as well as a wink about the most well known Marvel super hero being back with the other Marvel stable of characters.

No Way Home.

Peter is threatened with never being able to go back to a secret identity and all that entails while also (Possibly/Hopefully) being drawn into an adventure that sees him brought to alternative versions of the MCU within the multiverse.

We ref Peter's status of his ID and possible loss of the life that gave him as well as the dangers of being trapped on an alternate Earth.

I mean... We call these sort of things DOUBLE entendres not quatro, or sexto entendres.

One thing that when flipped means something else.

Not, flipped, then flipped, then flipped again to get to the "double meaning".

That's my view.

YMMV.

We shall see how it plays out. I can see this going both ways.

I just think Wandavision has told us how its gonna end already. to kinda assume that somehow its gonna end in a way that sets up Spider-man 3 and includes multi-universal portals... well we will see. i don't need to be cast as the detective to think the clues might be staring us in the face.

I just think its worth watching expectations.

Eh...

Ezra Miller already appeared with CW Flash.

Hope this is the last Spidey movie to use “Home” somewhere in the subtitle. I find it pretty lame

And again I dont think the logic to connect Far From Home thematically in the title is anymore difficult than that. His heart is not in being Spider-Man in the movie. He is far from home physically and emotionally. It is no more complicated than than the other examples. It is the same double meaning.

We shall see how it plays out. I can see this going both ways.

The marketing department have several ways to play this. Personally I don’t think they want to draw away from this being Tom Trilogy as Spider-Man, so they probably won’t dive to deep with the multiverse angle.

But you are basing assumptions on a show that didn't end yet and are just making assumptions. Why don't we actually watch the ending first?

Until the show ends, this is all guess work. Your guess is as good as mine at this point.

Guaranteed final trailer will be plastered everywhere and will feature a minimum of one "oh ****" multiverse moment that they will push hard that will show us multiple Spideys.

The need to put asses in seats/streaming eyes on the screen trumps any consideration for marketing to "not sully" the Tom trilogy.

Really like the title and keeping the "Home" tradition. Also, the blue logo.

Has anyone noticed the similarity between the SM trilogy logo colour palette and the sequel trilogy one?
