Guys, I hate to say it, but Lobo really sucks, imo.

You know what they say, they’re like buttholes…and I admit that most people think mine stinks.

But it is what it is. I just don’t see people’s fascination with the character. To me, he’s an edgelord caricature that encompasses so much of what is wrong with modern age comics. And I hope that he doesn’t factor enormously into WoT, as the source material there has some rich storytelling that has a depth that leaves Lobo in the dust.

I get that some folks like him, and more power to them. I just hope the doses of him are small in the film.

But that's so not what Lobo is, by the way. Lobo , in his prime, was an intentional parody of the hard boiled / edgy comic book characters.

And in addition to that , he's a rockin' fraggin' metal dude. At this point I'd be curious to know if you have actually read some of the Keith Giffen, Alan Grant comics. Because they're really funny, and they put those tropes through the blender and make fun of them.

You might even enjoy them.

Man, I'm excited for the Main Man to make his big screen debut.

Trust me, I’ve read Keith Giffen’s Lobo stories going all the way back to his debut in Omega Men. And when he functions as the over the top parody, I agree that it can be fun. The problem is that audiences started taking him seriously and the joke became an ironic reality. When he was put in the JLA, it was especially cringey to me.
