Comics Spider-man Reign

Read it this afternoon. I'm going to keep getting it, because I like the concept (if only because I liked DKR), but yeah. It's just Spider-Man's version of DKR.

Just read it today, was a good read an cant wait to get the rest. Duno how similar it is to DKR since i've never read that but mite pick it up soon

Dark Knight Returns is arguably one of the best Batman stories ever written, done by Frank Miller (pre-crazy days). I would hold off on reading that until after Reign, enjoy the book (which seems likely), and then check out DKR. But definitely read it.

Duno if i have enough patience to wait until i've finished reading Reign to get DKR but i will try lol. Only recently started buying TPB's and DKR was definitely on my list as a must buy, love Batman and Frank Miller so it was a no brainer :woot:

How so? There's been no confirmation whatsoever that's gonna happen

Besides, JQ may hate the marriage, but he's constantly stated that being divorced would age him more, and being a widower would make him seem insanley older! The main reason JQ hates the marriage is that it ages Peter too much in his eyes.

and that getting rid of MJ will make things worse as far he's concerend. Either way no matter what you do with MJ it'll result in Peter appearing to be older.

I just got it. It is fantastic. I love it. It really is the DKR of Spider-Man. Andrews did a great job with the writing. Especially with Jonah.

I eagerly await the arrival of the classic villains.

Fortunately, I called my LCS and had them hold a copy for me. I'm hoping this will give me another Spidey-title to cheer for (counting Sensational, that'll make 2).

that cover of ock really looks like flies aroudn his rotten corpse...

intense.. i love it!

got it. read it. and liked it very much. the art is very gritty but yet clean. Anyone knows who the bald guy mayor waters is holding as a trophy?

It is kind of a rip off of the DKR but it's still shaping up to be a good story. Which as we all know is rare with Spidey today, I don't like the art much though.

Even the art is like the Dark Knight Returns.

rip off? whatever...

great book so far.. i like how its something differnt than what we usually get from marvel. that being obnoxious crap. anyhow, the dark feel to it is entertaining, as well as not knowing whats going to happen next. it makes for an exciting book and its only 4 issues. its not in continuity as it will never reach the point at becomming so. although its a good book and everyone should try picking it up.

im sure it is.. fat once upon a time + no eat = skin hanging off bones

so...did anyone else notice peters spider-dong in the panel when he's on the bed after he wakes up from the dream about mj?

I'm so confused. Like, the one I bought today has Spidey in a black suit with white hair holding onto MJ's grave. I don't get the story. Why is Peter an old man? Is this the same book?

It takes place in an alternate future, where MJ is dead and Peter has aged quite a bit.

Looks like Ock is in the next issue going by the front cover, whether he's actually alive or not is still to be seen

Oh, ok...well where does Ock come into place? Or is that issue two?

Ock is on the cover to issue 3. Ripping into a coffin that Spidey is in. Very intriguing.

I really hope he's alive. I don't much dig the idea of his dead body running around on his tentacles. How could they even move without him to command them??

for some reason i was guessing either daredevil or captian america or even norman osborn.

Could it be possible that Ock's consciousness was transferred into the tentacles when his bosdy died? Perhaps it's a further exploration of the bond between Ock's tentacles and himself? Could be cool...

My theory is, it's not the original Dock Ock. What I'm really expecting is Captain America to be a tool of the government who they'll eventually release on Spider-Man as a last resort, ala Superman from DKR. I originally would have said Daredevil, but he would have aged much faster than Cap.

I guess it's possible. This is the future with all kinds of new advanced technology. Ock could have done it himself. He is an engineer as well as a physicist.

No, it's him. The solicit for issue 3 said it's Otto Octavius.
