'Ben' also alerted us to a more specific location:

Just went for an afternoon stroll and located an area where they'll be shooting a scene for SM3 this week. It's at the cross-section of Pine and William Streets. Saw cables marked "Spider-Man" and talked to one of the workers there who was very friendly and said they'll be shooting in the evenings Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They'll be shooting a shot of the Spider-Cam in action, and that Tobey Maguire would be present at the shooting. Was told it was going to be an "amazing shoot".

Is this the point of view we saw in spidey 1 when he swinging at the end through the cars or sumthing new????

Yes it is. Sounds awesome. Retro, here is your next mission. Make us proud

Raimi's trademark, which in Spider-Man 2 became Doc Ock Cam.

*Crosses Fingers*plz film with the black suit, plz film with the black suit...Wishful thinking

Btw whats the Spidey cam?

the spider-cam is the shot in SM1 which is a first person view of Spidey web-swinging

although not a hard shot to do, it is expensive because of the cranes involved.

Sam raimi is known for his first person shots and the spider-cam is an extension of that.

ex: the evil force in Evil dead
bullet shot from quick and the dead
dock ock's arms (homage to the eye scene from evil dead 2)

he is not the first to create the FPV shots.. but he is very imaginative with it

Anytime you saw Spider-Man swooping and swinging around? That's the Spidey-Cam.

It cost alot of money to do the last shot in SM1 (where he patriotically ends up on the flag pole). They had enough to do a bunch in the second one (the last shot in SM2 where he whips around the corner was beautiful). I hope this one goes all the way to eleven.

A lot of those shots were not spidey cam shots.. especially the end sequences.. they where CGI rendered.. there is no way they could get the camera to follow those movements on a crane unless it was airborne

but you are right, the burglar chase, and a lot of spidey's swinging in SM2 were done using the spidey cam

Oh, I knew the swooping down between the cars and whatnot were Spidey-cam shots and I figured it was used in some of those sequences. But I figured CG was used for many of those shots (unless they paid a helicopter pilot alot of money to fly like that).

Also, in some of the behind the scenes things, I thought pulleys were used to carry the camera. ...Unless they were pulleys on the crane...

your mostly right.

a lot of the amazing CGI shots were fully CGI but some were actual Spider-cam shots... although amazing to look at, it still needs to be perfected to pull off sequences like the end of Spider-man

Aaaah, you should have asked him what would the scene consist of. Anyway, thanks for the info.
