Comics Spidey in Ironman #14

In a recent Spidey Unlimited he beat the Hulk.

I don't really look at Spidey Unlimited as "legit" Spider-man personally. I was meaning more along the lines of Amazing, Spectacular and the old classic titles. I don't believe Spider-man ever defeated the Hulk in those. In one instances during ASM, Hulk and Spider-man tangled as Hulk went crazy...had a virus in him and Spidey put up a really good fight even going as far as to throw the Hulk. Just as the Hulk is about to finish him off, the Virus wears off and Spider-man calms him down.

Then during PPSM Spider-man wen't balistic because MJ was missing and faught the Hulk because he thought the Hulk brought the plane down. The two tangled but the fight didn't end. Spidey left bruised and beaten and the Hulk walked off like nothing.

I really don't recall him ever beating the Hulk using purely his fists and just knocking him out.

Firstly, I'm sort of in league with ragingdemon here - I think Spidey Unlimited can be great, but mostly for smaller, off-beat stories that aren't necessarily huge for continuity.

But anyway, how was the fight? I mean, was it legit? We've been *****ing about how Marvel seems to stack the odds against Spidey...isn't it possible that a writer could "rig" a fight so that Spidey wins, too?

True.

But I'm really trying to recall an instance where Spider-man beat the Hulk simply by pummeling him. Unlimted is cool and all but just doesn't seem like a "canon" Spider title in my eyes.

Dude- I don't know why you're making a big deal over this. I only mentioned Spidey beating the Hulk because Jaydawg brought it up. Then when you asked about it I mentioned an example of when Spidey did in fact beat the Hulk. I didn't write the story, I don't agree with the idea and that wasn't even the main thrust of my argument. Just an aside.

And yes, the victory in Unlimited was as silly as fights like the Jester/Jack O Lantern victory over Spidey. Spidey just hits the Hulk with a truck the Hulk had tossed at him, knocking the Hulk out. The Hulk would've just smashed through the truck if the writer was thinking.

As long as we're bring up other stuff, Spidey did have a crap load of stuff happen to him before Jester and Jack took him out. I mean falling out of building is going to hurt Pete a hell of alot. Its not like Pete just got out of bed and was taken out by those z listers.
