As it just dawned on me since i started watching the original Live Action version of TMNT.

The first shot of splinter, shows his cut ear.

Um...if TMNT is supposed to be number 4 in the movie series and all the events that happened in first 3 are specifically referenced at the end...

Splinters is NOT supposed to have his right ear intact

I guess they didnt pay much attention to detail...

Its considered canon that after the third movie, they came across one more vial of ooze and Splinter used it to heal his ear similar to how the Shredder sued ooze to make his costume more big and spikey. The second movie sucked.

Kevin Munroe addressed this. He said that all of the CGI test shots with Splinter's ear half off didn't look very good. So they just decided to say screw it. This film takes place after the first one (the second two are all but officially ignored).

Its all loose continuity. and like the person above said---they tried it and they just couldn't get it to work

Even so

And it doesnt take place after 1!

As they directly put the TGRI Canister (yadayadayada if u plan on countering that splinter kept it already) and the Time Latern in splinter's closet

Well, technically speaking, if the TCRI Canister and the Time Lantern came after 1, and this takes place after them, then this still takes place after 1. But I'm just being nit picky.

Honestly, who cares if his ear is half there or not. It was still a great movie.

Mutant Rat have been known to heal their ears much faster than other species after having part of the ear missing for a while.

the movie takes place about 2-3 years or so after TMNT3, they are I believe Kev said about 17-18ish here. That's why there's the Time Sceptre, a triceraton helmet, and other goodies from maybe the past couple years of adventures.

Yah, but the can is called TCRI (like the comics)...and the time lantern thing could be from the comics too, as he had other stuff in the closet besides of the objects for the last three movies.

And...to boost my opinion into this...TMNT IS better than 2 and 3.

If you actually watch all four, yes all four, they fit together in an awsome story arch. It is a great set of movies. Yes some of the movies have low points but over all they are a great set of movies.

Thank you. You rock for saying that.

TMNT only uses the first Ninja Turtles as a "vague history," so it doesn't really matter if there are a few minor discrepancies between them.

Actually, the canister is broken right were you could tell if it was a C or G. It's meant to be ambiguous as the director enplanes on the DVD commentary. It's meant to be able to fit in any continuity.

PS I heard that Splinter died and transfered his spirit into his comatose twin brother and that's why his ear is not cut.
