Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

Blocking lasers is automatic? Wonder what that means exactly?

Exploration is encouraged by finding holocrons. Sith holocrons, grant powerups, and Jedi holocrons unlock new costumes, lightsaber hilts, and crystals.

Loving the idea of new costumes and lightsaber hilts and crystals!!

Some spoilers about the game. Thanks to SithStarSlayer over at theforce.net forums.

A former Jedi, Darth Desolous is for the PS2 version only.
The SA's Jedi-mother died long before Vader showed up, defending Kashyyyk's finest of course.
Vader kills the SA's Jedi father.
The SA is not Kam Solusar.
The SA's parents are completely new to the GFFA, and had been on Kashyyyk prior to the onset of the Clone Wars.
The rebellion happens on its own, as you progress but the two certainly become intertwined...
You can chuck Tie-Fighter's from the very get-go, so IF you choose to, you might be able to yank bigger stuff later on. Or you can elect to make your saber skills second to none.
Juno is the SA's 1st recruit, for whatever it is that he does as a Jedi.

The cover, if it hasn't been posted already...

Nice. Has there been a firm release date set, or is it still Summer of '08

LucasArts is still saying Summer 08, although I've read (I will post link the link, if I find it) that Activision confirmed the release date is September 08. I assume Activision is the publisher of the game in Europe.

I think it'll be released late August in the US and early September in Europe....or maybe early September in both the US and EU. We'll probably get the exact release date at E3, in July.

Meh, i'll wait for the game to see how it really is.

I'm getting a bad feeling about the saber combat

They've already explained how it works. If I remember correctly, there's only one lightsaber attack button. Press it fast and the lightsaber attacks will also be fast. Press it slowly (holding it a bit every time you press it) and the attacks will be slower, but stronger.
Plus, you'll be able to unlock new combos and combine your lightsaber attacks with force powers.

Yea, i just want good, kick ass jedi battles. I dont want to spend every battle force pushing a rival jedi.

"I also want to give you faithful blog readers a little tidbit about our next show on April 11: It's all about STAR WARS! Last week I went up to LucasArts for an exclusive behind the scenes look at the new game THE FORCE UNLEASHED. We'll be blowing it out on GTTV with a ton of exclusive footage and some very special announcements. Spike is airing all six Star Wars movies in April and throughout the month I'll also be appearing between the movies on Spike to reveal more of THE FORCE UNLEASHED. You'll want to tune in on Sunday April 6 between the movies for a big Star Wars videogame announcement and some very exclusive footage."

Sounds awesome...and...."You'll want to tune in on Sunday April 6 between the movies for a big Star Wars videogame announcement and some very exclusive footage." New Star Wars game announced?

Thanks Dark Lord. The Xbox 360 version does indeed look much better!

Very surprisng that on the Wii Battle Mode
you can't play as Yoda or the Emperor and Darth Maul doesn't use his iconic double edged lightsaber but instead a new character does

Someone asked this question in that mag.

"If the Clone troopers are bad guys, why is the apprentice fighting them"

Because he is Vaders secret apprentice. He is ordered by Vader to leave no witnesses.
