Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

Hahaha, it was a knock out before it started.:hehe:

Heh...

Well, I have to disagree with the Australian (even though I want to have his babies). I really liked the demo, and unless the reviews say that it's super-short or some crap like that, I think I'll be buying the game.

I do have to say that I'm PISSED that the Wii/Ps2 version is getting Jedi trials, extra levels and all that crap.

This "console exclusive" crap has got to stop now.

OMG, just got my PSM in the mail today. They gave it 3 and a half stars out of 5!!! This isnt good!!! Meanwhile the psp and ps2 versions got 4 out of 5. WTF?!

Going off the demo, its looks like Outcast will remain my fav single palyer star wars game!
Whilst the graphics and havok engine are great, the hack and slashness of it seemed boring.
I will prob rent this or wait till its cheaper as after playing the gameplay (it could improve in the final product or the level in the demo may be the only level that seems this way) and knowing the story, it hasnt impressed me

The demo was really fun! :woot: oh man I can't wait until this game.

Two things though, damn it took a long time to download last night and after I got used to the controls, (been playing Ninja Gaiden I was jumping when I wanted to be slashing) it was really fun using the force powers.

The demo was a little hack and slash. Fun hack and slash, but not as great of a game as the wait we've had for it would suggest.

Just finished the demo and loved it. I didn't overly hype it in my mind, I wanted it, but there were games I was looking forward to more. That's why I think I wasn't dissapointed while some of you were.

This game really gave you a sense of power with the force abilities. They also put in a lot of detail, from the glowing orange marks on the wall from slashing metal, to the way you can shatter windows and shutters have to come down to prevent you from getting sucked into space.

The controls themselves were good, but a bit sluggish, however I'm sure you can turn up the sensitivity in the full game. Also while the saber fighting was hack and slash, I felt this game gives you so many options that you can't call it a hack and slash game unless you're only using your saber. I found myself tossing ppl and objects around, doing the saber impale, force lightning, etc, more than I did melee attacks. Tho I wouldn't mind if the full version added a few more combos.

I can't wait to buy this to hit the shelves.

I played the demo & I can't wait. But if the AT-ST was hard, I don't wanna think of how hard the Rancor will be.

The AT-ST actually beat me the first time lol. I went stupid and tried to jump in it's face slashing, but forgot to take out the storm troopers first, and then when I landed I'd get stomped. Second time around I stood back and tossed things at it for a sec, then killed the troopers, then took it on. By the time I started fighting it up close it was over half way dead from throwing things, then suddenly that sweet button timing deal popped up, and I cut it in half heh.

I also wanted to mention I also like the detail of you auto reflecting laser fire sometimes. Like if your back is turned and someone shoots you near your right hip you'll auto reflect it. Thought it was nice because it adds to that Jedi feel where they can sense an attack incoming, but it's not overpowered since you rarely do it.

I know we all have our ideas of a perfect Star Wars game, but next time around I'd like a more open ended game like Kotor in a way, but keeping the action of this game.

Like you start out as a normal guy, go thru your life on a war ridden world, whether it be a farmer or someone in storm trooper academy. Your actions determine who approaches you first, a Jedi who sees potential in you, or a Sith looking for an apprentice (Of course you can turn one down and the other eventually approach you). Then you learn the force slowly, not starting out as some uber force lightning wielding Sith. It could take a more RPG approach like Kotor in letting you explore the cities rather than just going from one battle to the next. I'd also like being able to join other games with your created character, MP Jedi fights or doing a mission with a friend would rock.

Not that this is on topic, nor would this happen, just felt like saying it lol. Star Wars has a lot of potential, but a lot of the games are hit or miss.

My way of defeating the AT-ST was to use force lighting on it, then slash away at it. Then repeat until I got the QTE.

Ok, now I'm disappointed in something. Vader shouldn't be able to use force lighting due to needing organic limbs to produce it.

Yes Yes, this is a flaw. Just like him using it on Episode III game for ps2.
