Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

I hope it is just the game plus DLC. I don't care if there's multiplayer. It's not a game I'd care to play on multiplayer.
I hope the game has Multiplayer, Multiplayer gives every game replay value.

"awesome news for old school fans." makes me think of an XBLA/PSN release of the old Star Wars Super Nintendo games. Probably wrong though.

Turns out the announcement was for LucasArts games on Steam.

The complete list of games to be released on July 8 via Steam includes:
• Armed and Dangerous™
• Indiana Jones® and the Fate of Atlantis
• Indiana Jones® and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure
• LEGO® Indiana Jones: The Original Adventure
• LOOM™
• Star Wars Battlefront® II
• Star Wars Republic Commando®
• Star Wars Starfighter™
• The Dig®
• Thrillville®: Off the Rails™

and that Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, will be released on the 15th.

Wow. Uberdissapointing announcement.

They did say that the announcement would please old school fans and that it wasn't about a specific IP/Game, so I don't see why people expected anything else.

I recognize everything on that list except LOOM. Oh well, cool for PC users who want that stuff

1. What's Steam? I love the Last Crusade and Fate of Atlantis Indy games!

2. What platform is the Monkey Island game?

Steam is a PC download distribution service, and the Monkey Island remake will be on the 360 and PC (through Steam)

Pretty good announcement to me. I don't know why people are 100% indifferent to PC games now. It's just another platform to me. Granted, my PC is hooked up to my 40" TV along with my 360 and PS3, so I may have a different perspective on its use as a gaming platform.

I used to play PC games a lot but lost interest when my computer became slower and slower. Now that I have a new PC I built, I'm playing a lot more games. I will check some of those games out.

Do you have a PS3? Telltale said they eventually wanted to port the title over there as well, but budget problems made it difficult to do it simultaneously. It may be awhile before we see it there, but it's a possibility

The best part of that announcement is I love "The Dig".....seriously a great adventure game.

Never heard of it. I'll probably end up getting all of these, though, so I'm sure I'll play it eventually. I've always wished I could try a lot of Lucasarts' "legendary" old adventure games. They and Sierra practically built the genre.

If they come to PS3 then soughted! :)

I had the Dig given to me ages ago but my laptop was so crap it couldn't even play that. I've heard its good though.

If you enjoy adventure games, "The Dig" is fantastic. It's up there with Fate of Atlantis, and the Space Quest/King's Quest games.

And yes, Lucasarts and Sierra invented the adventure game genre.

It's a shame it's dying out. I hope Monkey Island and all these other old adventure re-releases spark some interest in the adventure genre again.

I've never actually played a Monkey Island game, but everyone who has always raves about them.

Telltales is doing a good job reinvigorating the adventure Genre. Sam & Max, Strong Bad, and Wallace & Gromit was the beginning.

I like that their games have a whimsical tone to them. The adventure games that are supposed to be taken seriously always look a little cheap to me because they're always, at best, 3D models on still, painted backdrops. There have only been a handful of fully 3D adventure games, the best of those (to me) being Dreamfall.

Still nothing on a special edition, but new achievements have been listed so...more DLC?

* And The Quarterback is Toast - Defeat Boba Fett
* Skywalker Style - Meet Jabba and defeat his pet using the pit gate
* No More Lies, Old Man - Defeat Obi-Wan, before and after he becomes more powerful than you can possibly imagine
* Hot Bot - Use the hot irons three times on the Gonk Power Droid
* Jawa Juicer - Crush 5 Jawas by using the grinder in the Garbage Processing Room

Seems we might be getting some movie based levels (I think the PSP had movie battles). Whatever it is, I'm sure they'll just announce it at Comic-Con. I love TFU (even though it could have been better) but I also want a new Star Wars game to be announced. Something other than a Clone Wars game that is.

I'm thinking it'll be a Tatooine expansion pack. Where you have to get some information from Jabba & encounter Obi-Wan/Fett along the way.

Well, they did have concept art of Tatooine and Jabba's Palace and of the apprentice fighting a rancor there, at the official site so I guess you're right. I'd prefer that, instead of the PSP historic mission were you play as Luke.
