Steven Universe: Save the Light will launch digitally for PlayStation 4 in North America and Latin America on October 31, and for Xbox One worldwide on November 3, Cartoon Network announced.



The release date for the PlayStation 4 version outside of the Americas will be announced in the near future. It will cost $24.99.

The sequel to the hit mobile RPG Attack the Light, Save the Light features an original storyline created in partnership with Steven Universe creator Rebecca Sugar. Discover fresh and familiar characters and enemies while exploring a variety of vast locations from the series – including Beach City, Strawberry Battlefields, the Great North and more – on an epic quest to protect the world from a mysterious new threat.


Assemble a party from eight unique playable heroes – including newcomers Connie, Lapis, Peridot and Greg Universe – and level them up over time with new abilities and craftable gear. Face off against foes and bosses in active turn-based battles, unleashing powerful team attacks and character-combining fusions like Stevonnie (Steven and Connie), Opal (Amethyst and Pearl) and Sardonyx (Garnet and Pearl).


Developed by Grumpyface, new scenes released today of Save the Lightshowcase two additional fusion team-ups with the addition of Smokey Quartz (Steven and Amethyst) and Sugilite (Garnet and Amethyst), as well as the promise of a robust upgrade system for each character and a peak at an all-new environment within Bismuth’s Forge.

Cartoon Network has released a new trailer for Steven Universe: Save the Light revealing a new character named Hessonite.




Hessonite, who was developed and written in collaboration with Steven Universe creator Rebecca Sugar, is an original and mysterious Homeworld Gem new to the lore, appearing for the first time in the upcoming game.


Described as a “pompous Homeworld commander,” Hessonite directs the Squaridot and has come to Earth to turn the Prism back into a powerful weapon after taking it from Steven. She is voiced by Christine Baranski.




Steven Universe: Save the Light will launch for PlayStation 4 on October 31 in the Americas, and Xbox One worldwide on November 3. A release date for PlayStation 4 outside the Americas will be announced shortly.

Steven Universe: Save the Light, the RPG with turn-based battles that may remind people of Paper Mario games, is heading to the PC. Another platform announcement is also being teased.

Steven Universe: Save the Light, a turn-based RPG inspired by the Cartoon Network show with a battle system that plays a little like the Paper Mario games, is coming to new platforms. Grumpyface Studios, its developer, revealed it will arrive on Windows and Macs in August 2018 via Twitter. In addition, it is teasing another port, which could be related to rumors of a Nintendo Switch version of the game.



In Steven Universe: Save the Light, Steven, Garnet, Pearl, Amethyst, Peridot, Connie, and Greg find themselves fighting a new Homeworld Gem. This enemy has taken a weapon that could threaten the Earth. Rebecca Sugar, the series’ creator, co-wrote its story, the original voice actors from the cartoon return, various Gem Fusions are included, and Christine Baranski lends her voice to the game.

Cartoon Network and publisher Outright Games have announced they will release a new boxed product exclusively at retail that will include both Steven Universe: Save the Light and OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes in one package for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch. It will launch on October 30 in North America and November 2 in Europe for $39.99 / £34.99 / €39.99.


While Steven Universe: Save the Light and OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes are both currently available digitally on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, this marks the first time the games will be available on Switch. Each title will also launch as a standalone release via the Nintendo eShop on October 30. Steven Universe: Save the Light will cost $24.99 / £19.99 / €24.99 and OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes will cost $19.99 / £17.99 / €19.99.
