Darksiders III
will be available for PlayStation 4 , PC, and Xbox One on November 27, 2018, as the upcoming slasher has gone gold and the game's first physical copies have been already manufactured, meaning that Fury is set and ready to conquer the upper world and free her unrightfully imprisoned brother, War, the powerful protagonist of the first Darksiders game that launched back in 2010.

THQ Nordic has released a climatic opening cinematic for Darksiders III that tells the story of Fury, the "terrible engine of rage." In the slasher title, Fury will try to hunt down and kill The Seven Deadly Sins who are ravaging the fallen planet. One of them, Sloth, sits idle atop his throne, allowing his countless minions to defend him and even move him around inside his hollowed-out subway lair.

The hand-drawn intro also gives us a quick glimpse as Strife, the fourth Horseman, who still looks very much like a Joe Madureira creation, which will make the series' long-time fans more than happy after all these years of drastic changes (Vigil Games, Darksiders III original creator went bankrupt with THQ). Be sure to check out the atmospheric prelude to Fury's epic whip-cracking adventure down below:

Return to an apocalyptic Earth in Darksiders III, a hack-n-slash Action Adventure where players assume the role of FURY in her quest to hunt down and dispose of the Seven Deadly Sins. The most unpredictable and enigmatic of the Four Horsemen, FURY must succeed where many have failed – to bring balance to the forces that now ravage Earth. Darksiders III is the long-anticipated, third chapter in the critically-acclaimed Darksiders franchise.

Darksiders III
releases on November 27th, giving you a chance to embark on an epic journey with Fury, the impetuous sister of War and Death, main protagonists of the previous Darksiders titles. The threequel spotlights Fury's quest to save War, who's been eternally punished for triggering the apocalypse. To do that, Fury has to destroy The Seven Deadly Sins, beings that possess god-like powers.

In the last couple of weeks, we learned that Fury can channel two Hallow forms. The Flame Hollow changes the heroin into the spirit of vengeance and adds some bonus fire damages to her deadly attacks. The Force Hallow gives Fury a chance to create stone shields and strike enemies with even more passion, and the latest trailers indicate that the third, greenish Hollow is an electrifying power.

The PlayStation Access crew has streamed the first two hours of Darksiders III that urged the player to use both Hollows. The opening scenes feature not only the return of chained War, but also the gravity-defying battle with one of the Sins, greedy Envy, who can teleport to avoid all attacks forcing Fury to use her whip to reach the bird-like creature. Be sure to check Darksiders III's opening scenes below:

Haven't played the game yet, but I was so eager to see a continuation of the story I watched the cut scenes on youtube. What a great story. Hope we get Darksiders 4.

We kinda need to now.

Yeah really hope we get the Strafe game and then the one after with all 4 Horsemen involved. I would just love the opportunity to play as War again.

Yes please! Maybe we’ll get that early next gen.

I dont know if its because of RDR2 but i would love to play with Strife(or is he called Strafe?)in a more western styled game...that would be cool.
But yeah, a standalone game with him and then a huge one where you play all 4 of them.

Fury's quest begins right now, as the third entry in the critically acclaimed Darksiders slasher series launches for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC today. The brave heroin's mission is simple - hunting and taking down the Seven Deadly Sins, beings possessing god-like powers who will do everything to destroy a small, but determined group of remaining survivors doing what they can to see another day.

To stop them, the most unpredictable and enigmatic of the Four Horsemen, Fury, arrives to Earth to finish the job her brothers couldn’t. Darksiders III is an interquel, which means that the main storyline of the threequel is set right between the prologue and epilogue of the first Darksiders and Darksiders II, explaining players what actually happened on Earth and who's responsible for the apocalypse.

THQ Nordic has released an intense launch trailer for Darksiders III that spotlights the most important story beats of the game, and also unfortunately showcases all the Sins, so you definitely shouldn't watch it if you don't won't to get spoiled. While the reviews for Darksiders III are all over the place, the title is definitely worth a look, as the traditional slasher genre is slowly, and quietly, dying. Check it out:

Darksiders 3 review scores – our round-up of all the critics
6 days ago | 2 Comments
Darksiders III launches tomorrow, which means that today’s the day to group together all of the review scores we can find. Six years after its last outing, the series is back. Wasting little time, the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse immediately find themselves back in trouble as War ushers in the end of the world and Fury is tasked with tracking down and defeating the Seven Deadly Sins.Read more

That Darksiders 3 ever came to be is impressive in itself. Five years ago its original publisher closed its doors, but THQ Nordic has managed to raise it from the ashes.

At the time of writing, it seems that critics aren’t exactly united over the third part of the trilogy. It’s at a 72 on both Opencritic and MetaCritic, but that’s the result of a significant spread – I’ve seen scores ranging from the impressively high to the near embarrassingly low. But instead of spoiling that here, I’ll let you take a look for yourselves – without further ado, here’s our Darksiders 3 review round-up.

Here are the Darksiders 3 review scores:

GamesRadar+ – 3.5/5
God is a Geek – 9/10
VideoGamer – 5/10
GameInformer – 8/10
GameSpot – 4/10
Destructoid – 8/10
Daily Mirror – 6/10
IGN – 7/10

As you can see, that’s an eclectic mix of scores. The overall 7/10 score seems to be about right for a game that’s not entirely sure of its identity, but there are also some nines and fours chucked in there as well. From what I can tell, if you’re a fan of the series you’ll probably enjoy yourself, but otherwise you might be better off swapping between Dark Souls and Diablo as you see fit.

Darksiders: Warmastered Edition is coming to Switch.

The news comes via a trailer uploaded to THQ Nordic’s media server. That being said, the release date is currently unknown as a press release has yet to go out.

The remastered version of the original Darksiders first launched for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in November 2016, followed by Wii U in May 2017.

Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:

About

Deceived by the forces of evil into prematurely bringing about the end of the world, War – the first Horseman of the Apocalypse – stands accused of breaking the sacred law by inciting a war between Heaven and Hell. In the slaughter that ensued, the demonic forces defeated the heavenly hosts and laid claim to the Earth.

Brought before the sacred Charred Council, War is indicted for his crimes and stripped of his powers. Dishonored and facing his own death, War is given the opportunity to return to Earth to search for the truth and punish those responsible.

Hunted by a vengeful group of Angels, War must take on the forces of Hell, forge uneasy alliances with the very demons he hunts, and journey across the ravaged remains of the Earth on his quest for vengeance and vindication.

Key Features

  • Apocalyptic Power – Unleash the wrath of War, combining brutal attacks and supernatural abilities to decimate all who stand in your way.
  • Extreme Arsenal – Wield a devastating arsenal of angelic, demonic and Earthly weapons; and blaze a trail of destruction atop Ruin, War’s fiery phantom steed.
  • Epic Quest – Battle across the wastelands and demon-infested dungeons of the decimated Earth in your quest for vengeance and redemption.
  • Character Progression – Uncover powerful ancient relics, upgrade your weapons, unlock new abilities, and customize your gameplay style.
  • Battle Heaven and Hell – Battle against all who stand in your way – from war-weary angelic forces to Hell’s hideous demon hordes.

Thanks, ResetEra.

If I ever gets this game I'm definitely picking classic mode. The ability to dodge cancel is a must in action games, imo.

Hope fully 4 ends it and it's big and there's an optional co-op where you can lock people out so it's mostly single player. so people can play it the way they want. oh it's another project. oh well.

The Crucible opens its gates.

Darksiders-3-DLC_02-26-19.jpg

Darksiders III downloadable content “The Crucible” is now available for $6.99 / £5.99 / €6.99, publisher THQ Nordic and developer Gunfire Games announced.

Here is an overview of the downloadable content, via THQ Nordic:

And now, listen… Targon has a message for you…

Horseman,

Only the strongest warriors throughout history gained access to the Crucible. To prove you are worthy, capture the first of the Deadly Sins once and for all. Do that and Vulgrim will show you the way. The more Sins you defeat, the further into the Crucible you may pass.

Once you have entered the Crucible, enemies will come at you in 25 waves. If you survive a set of five, you are given a choice: take your reward and leave or proceed and risk losing everything. Endure all one hundred waves in one go, and you will face the final challenge.

So to reiterate:

  • Defeating the first “real” Sin unlocks the Crucible and the first 25 waves;
  • Second “real” Sin unlocks the next 25 waves;
  • Third “real” Sin unlocks the next 25 waves;
  • Fourth “real” Sin unlocks the last 25 waves;
  • Defeat 5 waves without dying: you can either take your loot (rare crafting materials, new enchantments, new armor sets and a vast amount of souls) and run, or continue and risk losing everything;
  • Defeating all 100 waves without dying, sets you up for the ultimate and final challenge of the Crucible.
Shall we proceed?

Key Features

  • In this mighty morsel of digital wonderment, competitors can expect to receive a truly earth-shattering experience: The Crucible!
  • A legendary challenge whispered with reverence across the universe. Not even the Creator could have envisioned such glorious spectacle as that which is found in this fabled arena.
  • 101 Waves of grueling combat, fit only for the toughest and most steadfast of warriors.
  • New armor sets to don as proof of your superiority.
  • New Enchantments never seen until now.
  • Rare crafting materials to improve your weapons and enhancements.
  • All provided by the generous, steady hand of the Crucible’s Overseer.
  • That’s right, it is I! Targon! Founder of this stupendous arena, and the only one ever to conquer it. So what say you, challenger? Do you have what it takes to surpass me?
Darksiders III is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
