So, why is it called X-MEN and not X-WOMEN? Oh, right...copyrights and licenses. ;)

Very intriguing! The female characters in X-Men are some of the best in the world of Marvel and DC IMO.

its about their relationships and sex life? no thanks

I'll read it primarily for Olivier Coipel's art. Storm, Rachel, and Rogue bore me and I f***ing hate Psylocke, but I like Kitty and I've been curious about vampire-Jubilee (that hasn't been undone yet, right?), so we'll see. Maybe it'll even turn me around on those other ladies. Brian Wood's pretty good.

A separate thread dedicated specifically to this title isn't a big deal. Judge's decision: I'll allow it. :oldrazz:

I wouldn't read too much into that. I'm sure they'll still hit stuff, but sometimes you've got to have stuff in-between hitting stuff.

They should have met in the middle and called them X-Myn.

Because a title called X-Men would sell better than a title called X-Women. X-Men at least implies that it's a successor title to the adjective-less X-Men book which was at one point one of the highest selling comics. Calling it X-Women would imply that Marvel will treat it as a fringe comic that has no relevance at all to the grand scheme of the X-Men universe, putting it on par with titles like: Gambit, X-Treme X-Men, X-Factor, Daken: Dark Wolverine, X-23, New Mutants, and whatnot.

I wouldn't mind if it wound up like X-Factor. Unspectacular but consistent sales, freedom to tell its own stories, and a high standard of quality. Not too terrible.

I'm a-ok with this, but I've two questions.
1. Who's the one in red next to Rogue?
and 2. Why must Storm have back her mohawk? (Not a lover of mohawks in general, but I was definitely not a fan of it on Storm. But that's just me.)

1. Thats Rachel

2. Bc the UXF artist likes the mohawk

Rachel Grey has the worst costume in comics right now. But I'm quite a fan of mohawk Storm.

My one hope is that this is actually treated like it matters. I'm hoping it's on the same level as All New, Uncanny X-men, and Wolverine and the X-men. I do love that it's finally acknowledged that these women are the driving force behind the X-men.

Does this change the way anyone thinks about Uncanny X-force now?

But X-Factor is slowly, but surely getting to cancellation territory. I'm kind of afraid that PAD's run will end prematurely because I do think it will go below 20k this year.

Ugh, they should swap Rachel with Pixie.
Ugh, no...lol. No fan of Rachel's but that would be so much worse.

It has X-men in the title. For that alone, it will sell much better than X-factor. I expect it to be on par with the last volume to be honest. I never did read it when Woods took over following Schism. What were opinions on his X-men?

Talk about a lengthy title...

But a recent tweet

Jubilee looks like she has some sort of std or something on her face.

Not to mention PAD just had a stroke. I figure that might factor into the future of the book

That alternate cover looks great. I guess Jubilee is just working really hard to blow that bubble.

I actually really like Rachel's costume. It's better than the mini-skirt that I've never liked.

While I would love this to be treated seriously, I expect it to matter for about an arc and a half and then it'll fall down to a 4th tier book again.

I've heard this question a few times outside of hype and no, it doesn't. I'm mostly interested in Uncanny X-Force for the Fantomex stuff (cluster specifically) so this doesn't reflect that.

Yeah, I liked that look, but I like the current one just as much.

Is Uncanny X-Force still going to be about amoral d-bags killing everything in sight and then desperately trying to justify it to themselves so they can pretend they're still heroes? If so, nope, still not interested.

I rather like Storm's new costume and I don't have strong feelings one way or the other on the mohawk. Now if only Storm herself were a less boring character...
