Why doesn't Marvel offer more titles in terms of subscriptions? One reason stopping me from subscribing is the fact that they do not offer all of the titles I would like to read (i.e. Iron Man director of shield, though im not sure on the status of the book due to the recent events). I mean I live extremely close to a comics shop but I found the process of heading there every other week or so to check if they have the titles in stock kinda monotonous assuming of course the book wasn't delayed in the first place.

I don't go the subscription route, so I can't say.

Doesn't your comic guy do pull lists? Isn't that how 99% of us get our comics? He holds what you want and you can pick them up whenever you want. What's the big deal?

Yeah, it's cheaper to subscribe. But if Marvel doesn't offer it for books you like, what can you do?

Marvel has never offered subscriptions to all the books...

I get some books not being offered , but the pickens are real slim.

IMO i want to subscribe to GOTG, A:TI, and Nova..all books with respectable sales. My comic shop is now 50 miles away and I dont get there often. As a result, I miss issues. Marvel loses money from me plain and simple.

Way back in the past (say the 90's and back) Marvel offered almost all of their ongoing series as subscriptions.

My guess is that their scheduling problems keep them from doing it today. Between frequent delays, books on the verge of being canceled, books being canceled, rebooting series, and the plethora of miniseries over ongoings, it's simply not practical to do subscriptions on most of the comics. In fact, I'm actually surprised they have as many subscriptions available as they do.

Back in the 90's when I was first getting into comics strongly, I subscribed to a dozen or more Marvel comics and loved it. I don't know how it is now, but back then I usually got my subscriptions a day or two before they hit stores.

I went to that midtown site..but you have to subscribe to 10 books it appears..anyone know of a service where you don't have to subscribe to that many?

I subscribe, although not as much. Abuot 4 years ago, Marvel offered a $12 subscription for many of their books, to which I subscribed to about 15 books that I reguarly bought. This came to $1.00 a book as opposed to $3 and it allowed me to try other stuff. I have not seen this promotion as of recently though. However, when I access my account on Marvel.com they offer a 24 issue subscription for about $1.67 a book, still pretty good. Sometimes you get the issue earlier than the stores. Sometiems you get it later. I'm still waiting for my Barack Obama Spider-Man issue. WHen I subscibed to Captain America, I got the variant of #25. I got out of the collector mentality, and traded that issue for a reprint of #25 and $20 worth of new books. If my comic shop owner wasn't the father of my sister's best friend, I'd probably subscribe to everything to be honest.

Director of SHIELD got canceled and replaced by War Machine.

I used to subscribe to Marvel couple years ago. The final straw with them was the long delays. I remember Daredevil coming out on 3rd and i didn't get it until 28th. Now i just use pull list at my LCS. I live close by, so it makes it easier.
