I just bought the game and then saw this thread. I think the game is great, but was disappointed that the second player part is not better. But at least they did something.

Core Mario games have never been about multiplayer though, it's always been about the single player experience.

You're right! I didn't even think about that.

Even In Super Mario Brothers, I remember sitting and watching my brother be Mario and go from world to world and beat the game and I would never even get to play.
