I was not excited due to the fact since Rare left they have not really had good DK games.

But after seeing that Retro is working on it, It's a first day buy now.

Donky Kong Country was one of my favorite platformer titles back in SNES days. This revival is awesome (along with Kirby and Kid Icarus).

this game is so ridiculous. I'm sure the game will be good, but it's the idea of the game is, it's basically DK Country, but it's updated. Again, Nintendo is giving us nostolgic deserts instead of giving us some advanced gaming.

The E3 show, they mention that gaming is what is most important for them, but all I see is more advanced gimmicks than gaming for the future

3DS was the best thing about the conference. But, it's still handheld gameplay. Where the F is Wii HD????????

And that's as far as the comparison goes. Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask have more in common than Donkey Kong Country 3 and DKCR.

Even if they made an HD console, the games wouldn't look any better than they do today because they weren't made to display in 720p or 1080p. They won't make a revamped HD Wii. If you want HD, you're going to have to wait until their next console.

I have all 3 Metroid games they made and was wondering if you or anyone know if Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2 might look a tiny bit better being on the Wii or are they strictly direct ports?

Also, are some of the people at Retro Studios people that left Rare?

I'm not 100% sure but it's possible. I know that some of Retro came from Valve after the original Half-Life was released.

I'm still hoping for another Metroid game from them though. I want to fight Mother Brain in 3D.

You are correct. Same 2D platforming. I guess then all Halos suck since it's just the same shooting gameplay. Or Uncharted 2 sucked since it was just 'more of the same.'

DK works best as a 2D platformer, or have you forgotten the abomination that is DK64? Plus we only know a fraction of what the game offers, and if there is one thing I've learned about Retro, is that there is usually alot involved in their games.

Plus it's a sequel, not a remake. It's as much an updated version of the original as any other sequel out there.

We don't need a WiiHD, the games are fine as they are. HD does not make everything better.

Wait for the next console of Nintendo's it'll be in HD.

Think of this as Sonic 4...nothing new, everything (potentially) better. This is Nintendo; they don't stray away from their formulas (Pokémon, Zelda, 2D Metroid, the entire existence of all things Mario).

I was referring to DK64. But if you meant DKCR, I don't get it either. People didn't hold it against Super Mario Galaxy 2 for being nearly the exact same thing as SMG1.

Sorry Spidey, I only hated DK64 due to the fact that you had to go into each level five bajillion times due to you having to collect bananas of each friggin color.

It was like all the terrible gameplay ideas that Rare's ever had, mashed into one huge collectathon game.

Rare was notorious for just repeating Super Mario 64 over (Banjo-Kazooie) and over (DK64) again (Conker almost went that exact route)
