I dislike the SR franchise, but I'm still gonna buy it... I'm gonna buy all 3 different versions of it too: both domestic and international.

So what all comes in the 8 disc Superman set? Will the box set include the director's cuts of 1 & 2 plus Superman 3 & 4 or do you still have to buy those separately including Superman 2 Donner's Director's cut & Supergirl?

I have the two disc set that came out several years ago...it is chockfull of extras. I don't particularily like the movie...I don't ever get the thought "I must see Supergirl tonight or life as I know it will come crumbling down around me like Krypton onto Jor-El".....but I watch it about once a year. I have most every Comic Book character movie made, on tape or DVD, and try to watch them all at least once during the year. It's something I happen to like to do.

Well, she was hotl and there are other things I liked about the movie as well.

I also have the 2-disc special edition.

Cause the original release was by Anchor Bay, and I don't think they licensed the extras. Pity, cause it has HOURS and HOURS of more Helen Slater.

I can sit through some of III. The bad Supes vs Clark fight is a classic.

Not sure if I can do the same with IV, though.

That's the whole drawback to this collection -- actually having to buy those.

According to capedwonder.com, those covers are not he official covers. Just mock ups. Here is what he said:

Many fans have e-mailed me recently with very specific and worthwhile questions regarding the upcoming DVD releases, in particular the Ultimate Superman Collector's Edition box set. I'm afraid I have no more answers that what are presently circulating around the World Wide Web. Despite my inquiries, Warner Bros. is keeping a very tight lid on everything right now.

I did received this message from Warner Home Video yesterday, 11 September 2006:

"Unfortunately, the box art in the trailer for the Donner Cut is not correct so they are fixing it. Regarding The Christopher Reeve Superman Collection, we have not received approved finalized artwork for this. Unfortunately, your fans are just going to have to wait regarding the Ultimate box set as we don't have any news as yet. We will make sure you are part of the initial announce when we do announce."


Warner also told me that the artwork that has been showing up on the World Wide Web for the Ultimate box set was not authorized for release, so they are asking websites to take it down immediately. I've already done so. The art you have seen is definitely an early concept from my discussions with WHV, and likely will change a few times before it is "officially" released (whenever the heck that is!).
