Superman Returns Superman Returns Trailer discussion (merged with-Will be shown with MI-III)

No, they don't. And the mods here aren't a good example of how things get run efficiently. And that's not even their fault--I've talked to C.Lee and a couple other mods--and they're handcuffed here. The Administration here has some pretty goofy ideas about how to manage about 10,000 fanboys daily.

It's a stupid idea, nevertheless. You still can't tell me why it's a good one other than "It's always been done and I'm afraid no one will ever read my post."

You can find out if the general buzz was good or bad by reading a regular thread, it's not like the separate "my percieved opinion of a percieved crowd reaction" thread is going to be any more accurate.

The first part you need to take up with Mirko if your such a hotshot
And the good reason is quite simple,i have no need for anyone to read my post at all,the idea is to seperate personal view from the reactions on mass in the theatre not every single person in the theatre
As for the threads on important sections of the trailer they make sense,so that a more in depth look at big moments can be achieved

I think part of the problem is people thinking something like 'if there's an audience reaction thread, there should be a 'my coworkers reaction thread or my friends' reaction thread'. And that's not to mention people who pop in and think they're the first to see or even know about the trailer and post stuff like "OHH EM GEE I SAWS TEH TRALOR AND IT IS GUD/SUXX!!" without reading the hundred other similiar posts.

I don't think there really is a proper way to handle it other than trying to keep it as tight as possible, i.e. one thread. Granted, it'll page up like a Xerox on crack, but that's chaos for you.

LOL. You're acting like I challenged your religious belief structure. :) This has nothing to do with being a hotshot--this board is run sorta haphazardly because it's way understaffed. Trust me, Mirko and the rest of the mods already know this. He just doesn't wanna do anything about it.

And there's no reason to separate the personal view from the reactions in the theater. None. I'm asking what the reason is for doing that and you're saying "The reason is the that the reason is to do the reason."

This is just fanboy anal-retentive plastic slipcover tabbed manila folder OCD need to categorize and split everything into nice little boxes :) I understand that. But there's no real reason to do that unless cluttering the hell out of the board is the general intent.

edit: Snake there summed it up pretty well.

I agree, but we all know that there is going to be sooooo many new threads started right after its released.I can see both sides, it doesnt matter to me either way,i'm just here for the ride.

Me too really. I'll be too busy watching the trailer a thousand times consecutively and scrutinzing every little frame to post here. :)

You didn't uposet me im just flippant sometimes

And your mistaking me for someone i am not,for starters i wasn't planning on making that particular thread but if there is one i don't think it's a problem
As for seperate threads on sections of the trailer, they make sense, otherwise everyone is talking at cross purpose as they give their views on differing things
Considering this place is full of Box Office thread and endless"why this movie will suck/Rock Threads" anyway at least these would have topic with some substance

Again how the hype is run is fine with me except they need to ban more trolls than they do IMO but I guess youve went into this with Mirko already

I don't think a thread with different branches of conversation at the time means those branches need to be their own thread, that's all. It's not cross purposes if, in a thread called "Trailer reaction" someone starts talking about their audience, and then someone else talks about their girlfriend's reaction, and then someone talks about how they felt about watching it--I don't see that as cross-purposes at all.

And the endless Box Office and "Why this movie will suck/rock" threads is part of what I'm talking about as far as messageboard clutter goes. :)

edit: I'm guessing that's supposed to be from the trailer?

is this what i think it is???man i thought that guy was full of it,dont i feel like an a**:(

Damn that is Cool:eek: ,is it from the trailer ?

Oh and Fatboy, regardless of our differeing views on crowd threads i glad we can argue civily(mostly;))

I think that thigns shown in the trailer that have a big part to do with the movie are good topics for a thread, for instance this Plane sequence (which has a thread) will be a good off shoot for specific discussion:)

and as a former admin all I see you saying is "Clutter clutter clutter clutter" ;)

It's all good, man. Neither one of us are modding jack stamp so it's just pissing into the wind anyway :)

Is anyone looking at TRL/Access Hollywood/Extra for word of Superman content to air next week?

With SR material coming to the surface, I keep getting a mental image of a snowball rolling down a hill, picking up speed and getting larger and larger...

Good analogy Wolf!

I wonder if there's someone among us who have already seen this trailer. Hmmmmmmm....makes u wonder eh. They could be watching all our frustrations right now and laughing by our guessing of certain parts when they already saw it and know whats gonna happen. I'm sure there's someone among us heheheh

^ OK, thanks for confirmation.

Any more details you can squeeze from him?

Nope, he saw the new trailer. He said the thing that bummed out the most was seeing Lois' kid

I'm not quite sure I'm convinced yet.

I believe he saw the trailer. Then again its time like these people start making up fake descriptions just like before the teaser.

I have friend who is a manager at a movie theater in dallas, and he told me he saw the new trailer yesterday. He's a big superman fan, and he said when he saw it, he was sooo Disappointed. But then again he has high expectations for superman then most people. Just thought i'd add that.

If he was dissapointed, then I dont know what to think now. I've put up with negative people towards this movie since November (because of teaser trailer). If trailer is not a good one, then.....

:(

Don't worry, there are people that are disappointed in the greatest things and then get excited over the crappiest, lamest, most mundane crap ever. Don't worry, it's human nature.

People are already starting to hate the trailer although it hasn't even aired yet. I know this would happen but no one believed me.
