Superman Returns Superman Returns Trailer discussion (merged with-Will be shown with MI-III)

I will have to check out that Casino Royale trailer, even if I have never seen any of the Bond movies.

It's interesting that we've seen a lot more from Casino Royale than we have from Superman Returns.

Uh...I'd go for either From Russia with Love or Goldfinger. Goldfinger probably since it introduced most of the Bond elements.

However, I know that sometimes the older movies can turn off some people (though I have no idea why). In that situation, I'd suggest Goldeneye.

Are they in some sort of sequence or are they independent from each other. It seems like Goldfinger was sort of an origin.

No, each film is a new story. I believe only two of the films are connected in any way (During the Roger Moore period I believe).

Still, with this one they are restarting the franchise.

What are they changing? It's about time Bond got an update!

To be fair, though--the last two Bourne movies seemed much closer, in tone, to the Bond novels than the Bourne ones. And the Bond movies have, in tone, felt more like circus sideshows than anything resembling "entertaining."

I enjoyed the Bourne movies, but I don't know about Damon vs Affleck in the new Bourne flick.

If it is realesed on Tuesday night, I will download it at 6:00 AM, on Wednesday.

They are in sort of a pseudo-sequence but they are also standalone. However, there are a few references. In On Her Majesty's Secret Service, James Bond is married and his wife is killed. For Your Eyes Only opens with Bond at his wife's grave. It also shows Bond dispatching one of his greatest foes who was in a few Connery movies, OHMSS and FYEO. Also, Brosnan's Bond does mention his wife's death as one of the main driving factors as to why he acts the way he does.
