So streams of fire?
So streams of fire?
I just think the lasers look cooler than the "heat wave" effect and for some reason I love when characters use beam-based abilities.
This is also one of my reasons, albeit to a lesser extent.
I think they found a good balance.

This effect is pretty cool and I would mind if it was used in the film, but I still prefer the laser beam effect.
*shrugs*
I don't think the laser beams have ever been done in a way that makes them look good. It always looks cartoon-y.
) and don't really suggest great destructive power. Something like the focused flame of a welder's torch looks more dangerous and impressive.Even real lasers have a somewhat "cartoon-y" quality. They're just light (light amplification of stimulated emission of radiation) and don't really suggest great destructive power.
Well in that case, I don't want them. Literal "heat vision" or what literally looks like streams of fire coming out of his eyes work for me.

Which would be invisible, would it not? At best we'd just see Clarke's eyes glow.I think ultimately the way his heat vision looks will depend on whether or not Snyder is taking a more 'realistic' approach, like Nolan did with Batman Begins.
If so, then they have to accurately convey how a focused beam of heat/light/solar power would look.
Real lasers aren't even visible.

Most are not visible in clear air (and certainly not in a vacuum). Thats why laser demos often use mist or smoke. This helps define the beam. But some very powerful lasers can actually light up the atoms and molecules in air. No smoke needed.
As visually impressive as his heat vision can be, I actually very much prefer it when his eyes just glow and the object in question melts or heats up.
change it and use Cyclops power... where it's a FORCE BEAM of RUBY RED... and it's NOT ENERGY, it's a force beam that knocks people down... that's thew ay to go ALLAH

I'd like to see his eyes turn red while using heat vision...like in Smallville and in the comics, his eyes turn red before he uses his heat vision
His pupils? or his entire eyes?

Meh, they did that for a little while...I think it's lame.
