So I understand that the show barely made it from season one being cancelled, and season two is getting slaughtered in the ratings. That really sucks. I wish the millions of dumbasses who tuned into **** like friends and will and grace would do something to keep one of the few good shows left on the air. If it's cancelled now I will never see action figures or videogames :(

But anyways, how is season 2 progressing so far, quality wise? (try to keep big spoilers out). God knows when we will get it in the UK. I am aware amber benson plays a vampire, which is cool, and a blade esque vampire hunter shows up.

Also a tip for the people who have the region one dvd...there are two really cool easter eggs on the final disc: a few aborted title sequneces, which actually looked really awesome, and a personal thank you from the show's creeator.

Blade-esque vampire hunter LOL! The only Blade like about that Gordon guy was that both characters are black. And they both have the "If it's supernatural it dies!" mentality. Amber Benson plays a good vampire, the leader of a group of good vampires.

This season they are playing up the monster hunter culture that the boys father was involved in. And how that Dean is a-typical of monster hunters. You know macho dorks driving muscles cars, which I find amusing. Now that John is dead (you don't want spoilers so all I'll say is he's dead by the end of the season opener) they are relying on Ellen (one of John's "friends") to help them out now and then.

i blame the ratings slaughtering on the CW merge.

a lot of shows are being hit. smallville is another example.

Damn I liked John :(

I think this show started off great, and will only get better if it has a chance to bloom.

Killing him is about the only thing they could do with him. Having him around in a recuring role wouldn't have worked very well.

ITV showed Supernatural not too far behind when it was shown in the US. We'll probably get it aired around January/February over here.

The premiere was excellent. Loved it from start to finish. The second episode, frankly, wasn't the best. Really crappy concept, and just didn't give anything. The last episode was decent enough. I liked the blurring of the boundaries. Sam and Dean helping the non-human-killing vampires to escape from the other hunter (who I suspect will be back for revenge at some point).

I dont think Supernatural will get cancelled(Knock on wood) because I think that Runaway is worse ratings wise, plus 7th Heaven is in its 11th season. That is just too long for a crappy show to be on, and I hope The CW knows that. And I thought this was also Gilmore Girls last season...

If they have some good stories this show will make it,but they should not make every episode about vampires, this isn't Buffy.

I just think both Smallville and Supernatural are on a crappy night like thursday, I watched both last year this year its hard cause it is on the same night as my name is earl and the office plus CSI. I watch those shows too and it bites when they are on the same night so I choose between what to watch.

I thought the'd be on wednesday night or cover sunday nights with them, cause no more charmed. they would fill the spot.

In fairness, vampires haven't been featured all that often. Ghosts of one variety or another seem to be the main baddy of choice.

Yep. There's only been 2 episodes featuring vampires. The first was where the vampires were the villian in the story. The 2nd one that came on last week. Was more focused on the bad hunter rather than the vampires. Serving as a wake up call to Dean & Sam that not all demons, ghost, etc. are bad.

I'm officially caught up on this series, which means I can now officially begin to own this thread. :D

Amazing show. I thought last week's episode was solid, and coupled with the third episode, I think season two is starting to get itself going. Dean's breakdown at the end was really touching, because it's really the first time we've ever seen him truly open himself up and be completely vulnerable. He was always playing up that harda$$ facade throughout the first season, but Pa Winchester's death just really was too much to take. Not to mention revisiting mom's grave.

It'll be interesting to see where we go from here. Unlike last season, we haven't really established a major goal yet for the boys. Let's see if that changes soon.

^They should put some of those shows on different nights.

aren't they still hunting the demon that killed moms?

Yes and no. The demon is still out there, but through the last three episodes it really hasn't been there as this "goal" they're trying to achieve. As I said earlier, this season feels different than last season because we clearly knew what they were trying to do at the beginning of last year: get that demon and find dad. This year, it's different.

They can't, yet. There is a specific set of anomolus weather/environmental things that hearld the demons coming to earth. Basically as long as he's on earth the universe is out of whack and weird shizer happens. The guy who lives at Ruby roadhouse has a computer program that will track weather reports for when the demonic hearlds start to happen again.

Too bad the demon's kids were killed last season. That Meg was hot!!

I'm definitely interested to see where they're going this season. I like how they're incorporating the hunter bar into a couple of episodes.

I suppose they'll keep that demon around forever as a never-quite-attainable goal.

Those scenes with her in "Salvation" and "Devil's Trap" were like: :wow:

Yup. And to think, they were so close in those last two episodes. Sam had that first shot on him, and could have killed John in the cabin. It'd be all done with it, but at the same time, Sam would probably never be able to live with himself knowing he killed his own father. That's life, Sammie. :csad:

I think it would create an i nteresting dynamic if he had (not that its not already mind you)....sam never got along with his dad, whereas dean did, and even though dean would have known it was nessecary, he wouldnt help but think that sam would have been TOO keen to do it, and it would racket up the tension between them a bit.

The way it stands now is fine by me, simply because it's allowed us to finally see the vulnerable side to Dean. That final scene last week was heart wrenching.

Anybody know where/if you can download episodes. My DVR recording doesn't have any dialouge of was this episode like Hush on Buffy and there was no dialouge in the episode.

Pretty average episode this week. A nice twist in there, but overall kinda weak. The ending did leave a lot to be discussed (now we know that there could be a large pool of psychic peeps out there).

Next week's episode looks to be a doozy, though.
