What are the chances for a Swamp Thing movie do you reckon? :yay:

Nothing's impossible. I could see it being one of DC's newer, low budget offerings, and the character might well be part of JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK.

Justice League Dark, yeah. Is Swamp Thing going to be in it?

And what about casting for a potential Swamp Thing movie? I came up with Ewan Mcgregor as Alec Holland, cgi/stuntman for Swampy. I googled Swamp Thing and someone else had also casted Ewan:

I vaguely recall Swamp Thing being part of the Justice League Dark proposal. Even if he's not, though, an even halfway successful movie of it would up the odds of a Swamp Thing remake.

I just brought the swamp thing TV series at oiilis couple months ago its pretty good show I don't remember the swamp thing movie it been years cents I seen it.

I have seen the movie once, back when i was a teenager. :yay:

I wouldn't mind seeing a new Swamp Thing movie being made. Haven't see the TV show or movie in years.

Swamp Thing is in the JL: Dark movie Del Toro is planning :D

I'm not going to lie, I kind of want to make a 3rd film in the original Swamp Thing series. Those movies were bad, but I am a sucker for low budget B-movies. It'd be fun if I could ever get approval to do that for Scy-Fy or something :woot:

Spider-Fan , I would be 1st to sign a petition of support for your idea to SyFy. I think with comic movies being pretty big now they would wanna get a piece of it somehow & Swamp Thing easily fits into their genre. Now with Constantine being on NBC.I wonder if big film versions are in peril. SyFy might be a better way to get Swampy on screen in some form.

Swamp Thing is definitely in for JL Dark. Del Toro said that he specifically wanted him in because he was one of the characters he grew up reading and loving. He'd be one of the main focuses of the film alongside Constantine.

A solo Swamp Thing movie is a bit more far fetched, but anything's possible. Especially if JL Dark blows up with popularity.

He's in it definitely for JL Dark I agree but it was ,from what I understood , 100% given the green light to go into production either. Now with Constantine on NBC in a TV series, it would seem DC would not have 2 different actors portray the same character and confuse people.

I bet general audiences will get him confused with Groot.

Isn't Groot sort of...developmentally challenged compared to Swamp Thing? I mean, Vin Diesel is voicing him.

And isn't Groot a brown alien tree VS a green humanoid made of vegetation?

If Justice League Dark isn't Del Toro's post-Crimson Peak movie, I will cry blood.

I don't know much about the NOW! incarnation of Groot, but he was written as having a genius-level intellect the last time I read a GOTG comic. When he says his catch-phrase "I am Groot", he's actually speaking on several different levels. Only people familiar with his species/language can perceive what he's actually saying.

Not gonna lie...now I'm tempted to start a petition, LOL!!!! :woot:

I think it'd be an absolute blast to do! At least, I'd have a blast making it, LOL!

I recently acquired the complete series on DVD. All 3 volumes. Haven't seen the show in years, and I started watching it today. Honestly, for a TV show at the time, productionvalues are pretty good. The Swamp Thing suit looks good! Probably best it looked between the series and movies. I do notice a lot of episodes tend to make Swamp Thing a supporting character.

I agree with you once again. The Swamp Thing costume & makeup for that show was exceedingly better then the original movie directed by Wes Craven. And for those who never watched it, I think you should to get your Swamp Thing fix. Even though as Spider-Fan pointed out, he sometimes may seem like a supporting character, it wasn't bad at all. It did last over 3 seasons & ended up with 72 episodes. Hey Spider-Fan ,use those 72 episodes as research for your future plans for Swampy.
