SyFy’s Being Human

At least they aren't pulling the same crap they pulled with Eureka. I don't watch Haven, but I hope they don't have a sudden cut in episode order.

It got a 26 episode pick up....sounds likes a season 5 and a finale season 6.

I wish this cast and crew all the best. They've given me a great, that's right A GREAT run of tv.

But I question now what the powers that be WANT SYFY to be? I see BH as one of the few "non cheesy" SYFY shows. Sorry to the fans of other episodic shows on the channel but in production values, writing and acting far too many shows have a strong whiff of Xena/Hercules on SYFY. That kinda works for a WAREHOUSE/EUREAKA type show, but some of these other show just don't feel like anyone is taking them seriously who is behind the camera, or even in front of it sometimes.

I felt that stuff like ALPHAS and BH were in another category, just from the way they were cast and written, but also from the general vibe the shows gave off. Now, about the only shows left that are like that are HELIX (not my cup of tea but they are going for quality for sure) and maybe CONTINUIM and DEFIANCE (which can be SUPER cheesy, but tries and too often fails to overcome the cheese). So whats left in my estimation are bad "reality" shows, some decent "reality competition" shows, wrestling and terrible original movies. That's not a lineup to inspire anyone. Wrestling fans are keeping this channel afloat. That's not good for it's future. Other than giving WWE another broadcast platform, what is SYFY's identity? Do the suit's running it have ANY ambitions at all?

I like this, Haven, Continuum, Helix. I have a feeling that two season Haven episode order is a clue for that being its last

oh i forgot about haven and continuum. i'll still be watching those i guess.

Continuum is a Canadian show that SyFy airs it isn't a show they produce like Being Human, Alphas, Warehouse 13, Haven, ect.

I agree with Krypton on basically every point. Maybe I really should check out Helix then....

U.S syfy should get the rights to broadcast the original British Utopia series before HBO produces their remake. It is a R Rated show and isn't really a hard science fiction show but it would do well and could attract new viewers to their network.

That sucks, jeesh. How many episodes are left? 6?

Only six episodes left.

And SyFy went down this hill because the upper management wanted a more generic network that was less niche. Bonnie Hammer imparticular is cited as a reason the channel now has wrestling and lost most of it's actual science fiction and fantasy programming.

That's really sad to hear. For my two cents, SyFy used to have some great programming. I wasn't a fan of their original series until recently with Lost Girl and Being Human, but I loved their original movies. Dune and Children of Dune were great. CoD was the first time I saw James McAvoy. I own them both on DVD.

SyFy used to be my go to channel on the weekend because you'd probably catch a couple of decent horror flicks, and an interesting original movie on the weekend, but something change and it's not a been a good change. The channel has really lost a lot of quality.

According to Sam Witwer, this was going to be the last season anyway, so hopefully the show will have a great ending. But SyFy does deserve all the hate they get, they're up there with Cartoon Network as champions of moronic management.

I like this show but honestly...how much more do you guys expect to get out I these characters? This season really feels like its building up to a natural conclusion, at least with aiden and Sally, from a thematic stand point.

It seemed like Josh was slowly turning evil and Aiden was going back to the way he was, it would have been interesting to see them actually turn into the bad guys and give in to the monsters they are. But I guess you can't flesh that out over 6 episodes lol

Just read the news. :( :( :(

I'll just enjoy the last 6 episodes, then. If it's true that the creatives behind the show saw it coming, at least we can take consolation in the fact that they can give us a purposeful ending.

This is what I am talking about!!

Love it or hate it, they attempted a modern adaptation of the DUNE books!! That was ambitious no matter what you think of the outcome. I'm sorry, but ANOTHER frelling reality competition show? More idiots running around in the dark looking for "ghosts" but never finding them? More poorly produced "so bad, it's good, but it's actually pretty bad" original movies?

They barely show reruns of the quality programs they used to have on as it is. It's quite sad. Why does the BBC-America channel have better science fiction/fantasy programs than SYFY?

SyFy is run by inept, anti-science-fiction and fantasy corporate suits is why.

They used to be called SciFi but apparently that scares away youngins and women so they changed it to SyFy. :whatever:

****! I'm glad it's lasted as long as it has, but ****!!!!!

There was also branding issues with Sci Fi. You can't copyright or own a trademark on Sci Fi so they Blu-Rayed it (as in, modifying the letters to make it "unique").

Oh you crazy kids... you're all pre-destined to **** things up for yourselves.

I did chuckle at Bridget getting killed by Danny though. That chick broke girl code and she paid dearly for it. :o

Women, huh? Amirite? Amirite, you guys? :awesome:
