I remember a couple years back before the Punisher was in pre-production there were some rumblings of Stallone playing Frank.

How do you guys think Stallone could've done in the role? I think he could've played it well years ago (probably about 10 or so) and he would look around the same age as Frank would supposed to look.

I think it would've been awesome. I do like Jane but was thinking about how better or worse Stallone would've done as the Punisher.

Thoughts?

EDIT: I found this manip online. I really think Stallone could've pulled the Punisher off very well.

Punisher 2099- yes
616 Punisher- god no

He could have pulled it off if his diction was better. Lundgren's was good in the original one (although the movie suffered as a result of script, story, direction etc). Stallone's age would be about right for a military vet if we're sticking to the original comic book concept.

Drawback is that Stallone's not that tall. Sure, he has the bulk in the right place, but not the height.

this is the worst idea ive seen since greedo shooting first

LOL!  Great joke.

I think Nick Cage might of been able to pull of Punisher.

I think Tom Jane is a fantastice Punisher, he isn't as big as Frank is drawn in his comics (Stallone is still probably bigger than Jane) but he is a fan of Punisher and stays true to the character. That said, I think Stallone could have pulled it off, the only thing is it would have been hard to not compare Stallone's take to other characters Stallone has already played. Honestly though I think Stallone would be good to play the Max Punisher (they're around the same age).
Stallone's voice doesan't seem right for Frank either, but he looks alot like him (some artist portrayals anyways). It could work.

Aslong as he stays away from the Rocky voice I think he'd be OK. Maybe something along the lines of how he was in the movie Cobra.

Yeah your probably right but for some reason when I read any story involving Jigsaw when I was younger, Sly always popped into my head as a person to play him if a movie ever was made.

Don't ask me why:confused:

Al Bundy is too much of a badass to play Frank. Frank may kill tons of criminal scum, but I don't he could last a day on Married With Children.

yea but it's AL FREAKIN BUNDY!!!!!!! HAHAHAHA!
