The Dark Knight TDK Score Discussion

what, thats the jokers theme or batmans theme? if its jokers where the hell is batmans theme that zimmer promised? im still gutted about molossus not being there in a more fleshed out form like zimmer and howard said it would be! :csad: curses!

Like A Dog is definitely Batman's theme, but it ends on Joker's theme just as the music hits a climax. I'm Not A Hero and Like A Dog is pretty much the most representative Batman themes, IMO.

Oh and everyone's A Dark Knight has the clicks. Think of it as a way to save the best music until the actual release. :woot:

i think they gave bats a new theme! and Molossus is there, it's just amped up! and Jolesr is at the end of the piece.

doh i wish they just redid molossus, gave it more substance so its like a progressions from molossus in begins, im sure in interviews he pretty much said that he was going to do just that. lies! lol

Also, you can hear Batman's escape from Arkham theme (when he calls the bats for assistance) in several different tracks.

"Like A Dog Chasing Cars" is one of the best pieces of music EVER. Calling it "epic" doesn't do it justice.

Man I want to listen to this desperately, I'm dying here, but I think I'm just going to wait for the movie. You're only going to hear the soundtrack for the first time once, why not in context with the movie?

The music has such a vital roll and nothing moves you more or can draw you in like a great score accompanying a great piece of visual art. It's hard to resist, but this movie is TOO damn special to me.

13 more days to go, I can wait...

*nervous twitch*

:)

I heard it in Im Not a Hero, but nowhere else, where did you hear it?

It can be heard in "And I thought My Jokes Were Bad"

also, you can here the Batman theme presented in "Like A Dog Chasing Cars" in "Introduce a Little Anarchy"

I loved molossus, im seriously absolutely gutted that its not here. i was fully expecting my face to be ripped off by a fleshed out molossus beating out of my speakers...but it just never appears. I do love TDK ost, dont get me wrong, the songs that are on there are classics. But...its like seeing your favourite band and they dont perform your favourite song! (after saying in interviews before that they would!) im not trying to sound like a git or anything but, you know, the guy looked up and SAID that the theme would be more fleshed out and it was only touched upon in begins, and now TDK ost is here and there isnt a pounding, expanded upon, fleshed out, defining 100% finished and epic molossus theme. gutted. lol
Actually, I always did think Molossus was a great piece for driving in your car, but it's actually fairly bland since it starts loud and stays there the entire time. I've always also considered it a truncated theme as well, since it's just repeated strings with the rising brass lilt of the Verspertilio theme. I was always  when people said they loved it so much.

I actually LOVE they they've decided to go with variations of Eptesicus for the hero theme. It's able to be heroic and loud as the melody rises and falls. It's able to have contrast.

I heard it in Im Not a Hero, but nowhere else, where did you hear it?
Read my long observant notes, and see if you can find what you're looking for.

ok, i can totally respect that, but the music means more to me alone than with the visuals if the score is brilliant and Hans and James usually have them, it can hold up with AND without the film. oh and this does!! besides, with all the tv spots and new footage comin out, i need the music to stray me away till then. i did the same with BB!:brucebat:

Agreed, this score is so incredible that it works well on its own and stimulates a lot of mental imagery for me. That, and like you said, its a good way to stay away from spoilers and footage for the next two weeks. :woot:

My advice to whoever needs a distraction from TDK for the enxt two weeks, go see Wall-E, Wanted, and Hellboy 2. Wall-E is fantastic, Wanted is pure adrenaline, and Hellboy 2 looks awesome. Until July 18, just listen tot he score, see other movies, then watch Batman Begins the day before, and before you know it, we're at the midnight show. :brucebat:

Which song has the pulsing "Vespertilio" music we heard from the Reese's Dark Knight site?

which song has The Joker theme in it? and i am loving Harvey Two-Face that is awesome..

The only (small) disappointment for me is Harvey Two face.......I'm waiting to hear it on screen but I'm not that impressed contrary to a lot of people here !:o:cwink:

i thought that dog chasing cars is Joker's theme?

btw, where's Batman's theme?

Agree with this. Although it is still a very good track (Molossus), "Like a Dog Chasing Cars" (the apparent New Batman theme) sounds amazing and really gives a stand out appearance.

The beginning is "Batman's theme," but from 3:37 onward it suddenly goes into Joker's "theme." I wouldn't really consider it a theme as more of a general sound. :oldrazz:

IT LEAKED! Google is your friend. Its 119.5mb and really good! Of course if you DL, please buy on July 15th! Think of this as a "free preview"

EDIT: Ive got 3 PMs in less than 5 minutes asking me where to DL. Im NOT going to tell you, if you can use Google, you can find it.

EDIT #2: Wow. Ive been avoiding all Batman sites trying to get ready for TDK. Seems Im even late on this leak! You guys already knew about it!
