The Dark Knight TDK: The Tagline Thread

I made up the:

When Darkness Falls....

The Knight Rises.

Still love it.

But I don't mind individual posters saying: "I believe in Batman", "I believe in Harvey Dent" etc

But yeah, the poster above should be used lol.

the dark knight - spidey ain't got **** on the goddamn bataman

I think they should avoid joker oriented taglines. Remember that these films are primarily about Batman and should take extra effort to remind people of that. We aren't reliving Burton or Schumacker.

I hope they don't use Returns, we just saw it with Superman, and we've already had it with Batman. You never know though, sometimes simplicity is the key.

How about.......

In darkness, the Knight will rise!

In 2008, evil will fear the Knight!

In 2008, a Knight will rise!

The Knight will rise in 2008!

From the darkness of fear, a Knight will rise!

Yes, this is pure gold. I think WB should use this.

NEXT SUMMER... THE JOKE'S ON YOU.

THE DARK KNIGHT... RETURNS JULY 18.

FEAR ENDS, JUSTICE PREVAILS, THE KNIGHT WILL RISE.

I dunno... something like that I guess.

"In 2008 Brian Singer sees how to make a real super hero film"

I liked it fine. I just think he borrowed to much from Donner!

I know the original script was better but yeah, cut out the excessive borrowing and there's a good film.

But hey, I'm glad you liked it. I actually do think that film gets unnecessarily bashed by some people.

yeah its not as bad as blade or Early ninties Punisher.
God that movie sucked

My ideas for character posters, BTW tell me if you'd like to see another character:

Batman: It wouldn't be a quote, just underneath him it would say FEAR THE KNIGHT.

Dent: This one would be a quote, cause I liked one I read in this thread, "I Believe In Gotham City."

Gordon: This one would be like Batman's not really a quote, more like a statement, FEAR, CORRUPTION, ESCALATION

Joker: This one would definitely be a quote, and in order for it to work, have a very sinister Joker where you can like see his outline but not really his face, but you can make out a bright smile, so if anyone would manip my tagline into a Joker manip, it is : "If you're gonna go, go with a smile..." I envision it like this:

If You're Gonna Go...

\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\MANIP MANIP MANIP///////////////////////////////

...Go With A
SMILE!

They probably won't use any of Nicholson's lines, even for the tagline. It's a separate franchise, they have to establish themselves (though it was succeeded in 2005), not take back old stuff

I think the "The joke's on you..." tagline would be good for either a Joker CP (character poster) or a Joker-oriented poster in general. A lot of people have posted a manip of a batarang holding a joker card against a wall, so it could work in that respect.

what sucks is i have a great tagline for a Two-Face CP but Two-Face isn't in this movie! but i'll give it here anyway:

There are two sides to every coin...

Dark Victory (what i hope is the title of BB3) 2010

I know this is a little off tagline topic and just an opinion, but given the direction Nolan took mith "Begins" and assuming he'll do the same with "Knight", I don't really think individual character posters would be appropriate for this movie. Here's why... Nolan wants to keep the focus of these movies centered on the Character of Batman/Bruce Wayne. The other characters in the movies are important, yes, but they are just supporting roles. Individual character posters of Dent, Joker, Gordon ect would go against the idea of Batman being the main character. Individual posters worked for x-men and other various movies because all the characters were seen as being leading roles and helped to promote the film. I think the posters for "Begins" were fantastic and that they should continue to use that style for "Knight." But on the other hand, I can see where a poster featuring the joker would be a great way to promote the movie, just because he is the most famous of all of Batman's enemies. I know Nolan won't do us wrong, but I just can't forget the character posters for the earlier Batman movies and the direction the franchise took after the attention was shifted from Batman to the other characters of the films, mainly the villians. Sorry this was so off topic.

I love you're Two-Face tagline, however and unfotunately, Dark Victory was already a non-Batman movie in 1939, and then a TV show sometime in the 70's, look it up on IMDB. :csad: I do like the name though.
