is making a mini series about heroes that don't have powers and are in teen years a good idea? like making the x men normal outcasts and spidey a science geek? i think it would be an okay thing to do for a little series about high school.

about the x men. i'm just wondering which hero(s) would work best for this idea. (and it's okay if anyone says none, i've gotten that from my friends i asked on the phone.)

Well, what would be the point of this story? Would it be like, what would their lives have been like if they never got their powers? Or just your average teen drama....thing? Cuz I gotta tell you, the former would be interesting, the latter? Hell, if you're gonna do that you may as well just make up your own characters and tell your story. That's the beauty of comics, it can be about anything. From Space Vikings lost in an alternate universe in some kind of cosmic Odyssey, to teenagers trying to deal with their perceived miserable lives in highschool. Truly comics is the perfect medium.

basically "what if they had no powers and had to go through high school as frieks". so basically, they would look different and would be called names. ( their 616 hero names)

I guess it could be an interesting story. I wouldn't personally see much point to it, since taking the powers element out of it effectively makes it just like most awkward coming-of-age stories out there.

Oh, well, you could do that with pretty much anybody. Stark would be the rich kid. Reed Richards would be the smart kid. Ben Grimm the Jock that gets along with everybody. Banner the kid most likely to go on a school shooting spree, but magically not kill anybody with Math. :o It writes itself really.

but what if:

school files:
students:
scott summers:
nickname: cyclops
features: eye patch, clutz, red eyes, really tall.

student: kurt wagner
nickname:nightcrawler
features: black, sharp nails. likes to walk on all fours. yellow eyes. three fingers and toes.

student: jean grey
nickname: marvel geek
features: mind reader. can stay in air longer than most people(very light).

and you get the idea. basically it's like their powers, but in reality!

i think it would work great as a four part series.(or maybe three...)

Not exactly what you're describing, but yeah. :)

So basically you're asking about an amalgam of "Clone High" with the Marvel Universe? :)

but in my idea, i try to incorperate the powers into the features and peronalities:

ooro munro
Nickname: storm
features: mood swings as predictable as weather changes.

reed richards
nickname: mr. fantastic
features: flexable, smart, interested in science.

victor von doom
nickname: dr. doom
features: metal arm and hand. has been known of carring weapons to school.

feel free to make up your own...

so basically what anubius said. "what if the marvel universe had never gotten powers?" basically that but where would they be today?

peter would not be at the daily bugle. he would of married gwen stacy.

mr fantastic would of never married invisible woman.

magneto would of never flooded the ultimate marvel universe.

ect.

any more?

Why would Peter of Married Gwen? He probably would've never came out of his shell if he didn't become Spider-Man, hence he would've never met her.

Also I like the idea, but not the idea of giving their powers a characteristic. They're powers helped in a big part of changing who they were in life before they got them. In this type of scenario I'd picture older characters like Reed Richards, Victor Von Doom, Steve Rogers... basically any original Avengers as teachers of the School. Reed and Doom as Competing Science Teachers(they didn't get their characteristics from their powers so they'd basically be the same) and Steve Rogers as a gym teacher. various X-Men, Peter Parker, New Warriors, Young Avengers, New Warriors as Students. Moon Knight and The Punisher as the schools creepy off beat Janitor's or something.

than who would he of married? he wouldn't of met betty because of no spidey pics.

hey, what about the burgalar?

Exactly he would be a completely different person if he never got his powers. He'd most likely be the super nerd who after school invents something and becomes a billionaire off it.

wow. I wonder: would he of ever met tony stark?

but cap would of never had gotten the super soldier serum, so he would be a veteran at war...

magneto and charles would be best friends

would tony stark's life change?

matt murdock would probably become a wrestler.(no kingpin=father alive)

Wait but the Kingpin killing Jack Murdock probably would still happen. Kingpin could exist in a real world setting, just not as big as in the MU setting. Are we saying Matt Doesn't go blind or just he doesn't get powers from it?

and Im not sure about Tony Stark certain aspects of his life would be changed if he wasn't Iron Man. If he didn't become Iron Man wouldn't he have just sold the suit he'd eventually build to the military or something?

well, basically we are erasing the event of what gave them powers. matt got his powers from going blind, so ya he would see without the event his powers were given.

But his dad would still get killed

ya, he just never stands a chance even in an insain alternate reality! well, would dardevil go and beat up kingpin? (assuming he finnally found out who killed his father.)
