So I guess blu ray is kinda becoming like DVDs? Everything now is the beginning of 4k. 4k games, movies, Tv's, consoles.

And a few years from now it will be 8k, then 16k then they will go nuts and call it 64k and 3D immersive directly scanned into your brain and require a monthly payment or they erase it.

35mm films scanned in a resolution beyond 6K (more or less, depends on the quality of film stock and how well preserved etc grain's also a factor) won't see any increase in detail. Same for 70mm films but with 18K. Now, pixel size and density future films may be potentially infinite, but the films already filmed have a limit (note that you'll need a cinema-size screen to notice even 6K).
