the amount of hate Worthington and Courthney get.

this can happen only on a superhero forum.

I would actually put Tatum above Courtney only because Tatum has a little more charisma.

As I said Im not against Courtney but Tatum has 21 Jump Street and Foxcatcher. I dont think it's really fair to compare Tatum and Courtney

Channing Tatum as Kyle Reese is actually not a bad pick, he would actually be perfect or hell he would have been perfect had they not casted Jai Courtney in the first place

Tatum would have been a terrible Kyle Reese, imo. And I LOVE him in the Jump Street movies (tho was less impressed with him in Foxcatcher than some). But the man should never do action movies where he's supposed to be taken seriously ever again as far as I'm concerned. *weeps for favorite X-Men character*

Like Tatum a lot...10 years ago I would never have imagined saying that

But he's terrible for Kyle Reese.

Sebastian Stan would be a good Kyle Reese, plus he looks like Michael Biehn.

I'm trying really hard not to dismiss the film, so we'll see. It COULD be a Rise of the Planet of the Apes situation, where the goodwill didn't arrive till the release. Or not...
I have plenty of dismissing to go around so I'll cover you.

Jai is all wrong for Reese. Reese is not a meathead. That scene in the trailer where he goes back is ridiculous because Biehn was never that jacked. I actually thought Anton Yelchin made a great Reese and was the best part of Salvation.

It is weird how nowadays you absolutely have to get ridiculously jacked if your a man doing an action film. I mean there were muscular stars back then but now it's like every lead in an action film frequents bodybuilding.com

But Im sure women and whoever are attracted to men arent complaining.

I miss 70-90's films where the protognists were often average looking/any casual type person. I mean like the women were decent-pretty but not hot model looking and men were thin but not over the top muscled and bigger than life heroes besides a few people like Arnold and Stallone.

It's a shame because despite all the flack people give him, Shia Labeouf was that guy to me if directed properly. He could have been this generation's Dustin Hoffman. I mean he reminds me of a late 60's, 70's Hoffman.

Shia Labeouf for Kyle Reese. :cmad:

Paul Walker he would have been awesome as Kyle Reese if he hadn't died tragically but even Garrett Hedlund he would have been perfect as Kyle Reese or even Ryan Gosling or Chris Pine would have been great as Kyle Reese

But as John Connor, Jason Clarke is not a bad pick, not who I would have went with as John Connor but hey to each his own, I would have went with Joel Edgerton as John Connor

Well, to each their own, but I still think most of these picks are just too pretty (though, they're fine as actors in general. Pine, especially, is really good in comedies but I can't take him seriously as the teen-idol-good-looks action star). I don't know if that comes from wish-fulfillment, audience-wise (guys wanting to see guys they wish they resembled) or studios trying to win over the "female demo" (ugh, I hate terms like that) but Kyle should be an every man if at all possible. Scrappy. Not jacked, not model-pretty, and in no way should his physique rival Arnold's.

Remember, T1 was essentially a horror film, so, if they're hell-bent on emulating the look and feel of that movie, you want Jason vs. the resourceful, good-natured "average guy", not Freddy vs. Jason (which, while entertaining in theory, is no longer horror).

Kyle Reese should not look like he could take a ****ing T-800 hand to hand.

Courtney doesn't look that rip of a meat head. I mean he is but not enough where he seems equal to the at-800 and go hand to hand..well at least to T1&T2's

No, he just looks exactly like the kind of pretty-boy jock who would've stolen Kyle Reese's girlfriend in high-school had the robot apocalypse never happened.

I don't disagree with your general point, but you act like Kyle Reese was some skinny nerd. He was hot, and in very good shape.

Yea, young Michael Biehn was hot. But not in a meathead kind of way.

Henry Cavill for the Terminator AND Kyle Reese.

Just imagine the fangirls lining up to see Henry fight himself.
