Terminator: Genisys

I still find it sad there doing a Terminator 5 Instead of trying to do a new scifi movie or come up with an original idea.

I find it sad people still give that same cliche response.

I find it strange people believe the two can't co-exist, that one must preclude the other from happening.

Agreed to the last posts.

There is a lot more set pics definitely doing a great job recreating 1984.

EDIT: To add more, original movies and sequels/franchises both have films that rock, and suck. Being one or another does not indicate quality.

I admit I'm getting more excited for this. I do worry at times, and still have reservations, but I'm impressed on the detail so far. And like what I've heard from the story, and Drew said the script was good, and said if they pull it off, it will be pretty good. I also have a feeling like XM:DOFP they may try to "erase" T3/TS. In the process.

So, are they completely reshooting the stuff from the original, or are they using the old footage and just adding the stuff from this movie into it?

I don't think they'd bother using too much of the old footage since they'd have to replace the actors with the new ones (Linda Hamilton replaced by the GoT girl, Bein replaced by Courtney etc).

Maybe they will for Arnold's shots, and supplement the old footage with new, digitally aged down Arnie shots?

I think the little inaccuracies on the police car are indication that Taylor is showing micro changes in the timelines. They have to be deliberate.

Are you referring to anything in particular?

I know the font and logo are different but that's a super minor thing.

Seems like a future war scene, doesn't it? :yay:

Ya, I like how they use the "purple/pink" pyrotechnics in there, meaning we will get T1/T2 style lasers.

Cool videos.

I wonder how they got so close to the action?!

So i got thinking. what if they brought back the T1000 when they are visiting the scenes from T2 by simply having the T1000 shape shifted into another form of diguise

I guess they could explain why the T-1000 would look different but no one other than Arnold is going to look the same so...

I'm not even sure if they'll be diving into T2. You'd think so.

The guy who originally posted them on Facebook was working on the movie.

^ I think they did say they'd be revisiting the events of T1 and 2.

Man that music is so simple in its execution and very haunting at the same time.
I hope they don't mess too much with the original theme trying to modernise it to make it "hippier and cooler".

I was bored and started browsing through Reddit and I found a post from someone who took a picture of what they claim is a callsheet.

Spoilers (obvioulsy) - http://imgur.com/vH8qBUi

I looked through IMDB and Google Maps just to see if the names and locations listed were real and they are. Of course, that doesn't mean the sheet is real so take it with a grain of salt but it seems weird to fake a sheet for a movie that isn't high profile right now.

The biggest piece of info...

Byung-hun Lee is listed as Cop/T-1000 and the scene has him riding on a police car and taking bullets.

Awesome news. I personally think this movie will be rubbish but I am a huge Terminator fan so ill enjoy the build up and seeing what approach they take. Have a feeling I was right about seeing T1000 in others forms that we "didn't see" during T2 which will then end on blending with a scene from T2.

If you look at the part that says 'SCENE and 'SET' it says..

The T-1000 crashes into someone named Brink's truck and it takes place in downtown 1984 LA. Also Rob Mars and Billy Lucas are listed as stunt doubles for a character named 'Guardian'.

Billy Lucas has been Arnold Schwarnzegger's stunt double in several films.

For whatever reason (maybe because it's Terminator) I do have high hopes for the film, and remain optimistic. After reading how Megan Ellison bought it, and since 2011 helped mold a good story/script has me hopeful. Same with the fact that Drew did say the script was good, but it would really come down to if it was pulled off correctly. I know this film could end up being a meh film. But from the story I've heard so far, it sounds very interesting, and different for Terminator. So here's to hoping its good. It's my wildcard for 2015 but I can't help but be really excited for possibilities.
