I've been here for many years. A lot of things have happened to me in my life and "E"-events here. I've had awesome conversations with people, I've had people help me, and I've had people complain or argue with me as well. I don't hate anyone, even the people that I've argued with.

For the most part, most of you don't know me. I know. I was never really "in" the in-crowd on this site. And it's a reflection of real life. What do you know? Art imitates life after all! It's not a bad thing, it's just, as outspoken and loud as I am...I have the whole "artist" persona, so people misunderstand me or think I'm weird or whatever.

The point is...I never said thank you. Good or bad, I've had a place to escape to with real people instead of just video games and comics. Even though this is virtual and I don't really know any of you, there is a difference between talking to Lobo or Styleshift or someone, than to go mad or take out my frustration in some kind of anti-social way.

I have dealt with a lot in the past two months and I had thought of suicide to escape my problems...(I know it's wrong but alcohol feels better than death so...I switched one evil for another)...But many of you gave me contact information to speak with you.

So this is not a post about me or for me. It's for you and to you. Thank you. Thank all of you...just for being here. Even if I am just one in a crowd, it's better to have a crowd than to fight alone. Whether you know me or not..Thanks.:yay::grin:

The roof of my mouth itches when I sneeze.

They have powders and creams, my friend. Powders and creams.

powders for your mouth? Seems not very productive.

Nice comeback though. And thanks to you, Im now listening to AFI...just the good cd, not that godawful Decemberunderground nonsense.

To each their own, I like December Underground...I just think a lot of songs were ****ed. I saw that "Miss Murder" was being sung by 10 year old children in a restaraunt , back when it hit the radio.

Eh...I heard that song once and thought it was crap. The previous cd was very anthemic and I was sure theyd end up reviving arena rock and be huge with the next cd. Instead Decemberunderground underperformed, though i do appreciate that my boys in The Dear & Departed were introduced to America through that cd.

Only AFI song I know is 21/12 or something around that name but its the only song I like by them

I know it's not really the same genre, but I like Silverstein far more than any of the songs I like by AFI,. and I love Girls not grey...or whatever it was called...(That was a long time ago..)

I like techno and classical music and almost every genre besides country

Sverstein and AFI are both "scene" bands...and to the general public who isnt into the scene, there is no difference between AFI, Senses Fail, Job For A Cowboy etc, even though they sound nothing alike...so the comparison is fine.

I have seen Silverstein many times. I dont like them. They did some acoustic stuff I didnt mind though. I kept hearing this hype that they were great live, but it was just a mess.

I've heard them acoustic, but not live...I think a lot of bands suck in concert. I could not even hear Gerard's voice in Project Revolution last year. I swore his mic was off the entire segment...and I was in the third row.

Silverstein is sweet acoustic, but I believe you that they suck in concert.

That was very nice of you. It is a joy to see someone say thank you.

Ive seen MCR many, many times in concert and in general they are fine. Not sure what was up with the sound issues, but thats too bad. Their headlining run went very well.

Is it just me or was underground a little more...well...underground back in highschool? I hate to sound old, but I'm 21 now...And when I was like 16, if you mentioned a band that wasn't on the radio, people would look either confused or interested.

Now everyone knows every band..Not that it's a bad thing...it's just I liked bands like Silverstein, AFI, Midtown, Deathcab, Aphex Twins, etc...But like everyone knows them now. I had the Dragonforce CD like a year before rockband or guitar hero or whatever came out and now little kids know the band. It's kind of annoying but not really bad..

It's very thoughtful of you to create this thread and to acknowledge the posters here and how they've effected your life in a positive way. A breath of fresh air!

I'm here to help

Now seriously though, just pm me if you ever feel the need.

There is still an underground...its just not your underground. For the record, the emo, or scene trend was a failure for the most part. While some bands did well for a year or so, most of the successful acts werent even emo (modern day emo of course...Im not getting into the "true emo is dead" argument). Fall Out Boy, Panic!, and a few others...but bands like Senses Fail, Thrice, and many, many other "next big things" bombed once they tried to move beyond just a large cult following. Bands like Coheed, Avenged, MCR and others arent even emo but were the biggest sellers in the emo trend (proving that no one understands musical genres these days).

The result is that the entire scene trend is collapsing under its own overhyped weight. Mainstream kids stole the poppier bands (like Plain White Ts) and the mainstream culture (as always) co-opted just enough of the look...while shunning the now ridiculous girl pants, massive ear holes, facial piercings and crooked hair cuts. With no support from the underground since the trend went mainstream, and little interest from the mainstream, most scene bands will be dropping off the face of the earth in the next few years. My Chemical Romance COULD remain popular, as they were never emo anyway, and have grown to include influences from the 70s (The Black Parade is essentially a 70's arena rock cd with some Smashing Pumpkins thrown in). Very few others will remain relevant (I believe the world is realizing that Avenged Sevenfold is the worst Power Metal band on earth...and my HOPE is the Coheed and Cambria will get the respect they deserve).

So...to make a short story long...there are new potential trends bubbling up...you just havent heard about them...and the press...like those disrespectful jerks at AP Magazine...are too busy wondering why their cover stars didnt get famous to actually kick the corpse andd start promoting a new trend. As usual, the true trend setters on the street will make the next trend viable, only to be stolen once again by the media and the mainstream.

And the cycle goes on and on.

Are.... are you dying, Silverstein?

Are.... are you dying, Silverstein?

Dew is one of those posters who types the way they speak. Its something that, in her case, adds to the effect of the post. Dramatizes it almost.

"Are.... *long pause.....* are You DYIIINNGGG???"

Very effective in evoking feeling in font format.

Now, there are cases where typing the way you speak could prove very, very annoying. For example:

"Maaayn, right thurr over thurr be mai thuuuuugzzz. Hold it down n kizz my nutzz"

"Like, sometimes I like look in the like mirror and like think to myself that I like, like Billy"

"Uhhhhhh... soooo.... uhhhhh... i am... uhhhhhhhhhhhhh... huh?"

So please use your post/speak carefully. You can enhance or detract your own post... the choice is yours.

You do realize this whole thread is full of automaticly posting bots that post random messages on here to simulate that you're having a conversation with "real" people, right? Heck, even this post that you're reading is randomly and automatically generated!

With that in mind: Good thread. :D
