Dog Entoruage wasnt nominated for anything

That's messed up especially considering the increased drama this season

The Office is absent too

Thank gosh Entourage wasn't nominated. It was still getting recognization when the show had clearly gone down hill in the writing department.

But Jeremy Piven and KEvin Dillon deserve acting noms
and come one Adrien Grenier getting snubbed for this season while THomas Jane gets nod?

Some of these nominations are quite laughable, honestly. Most of the Best Picture (Musical or Comedy) category in particular.

The Office is absent too
The Office doesn't deserve a nom. It's not the show it used to be.

Community, however, should have snagged a nom.

How did The Tourist even get nominated?

Interesting to see Scott Caan get a nomination, though. It'd be cool if he won it.

I mean season 5 got nominated and it was horrible. Its just weird seeing something not getting nominated (regardless of quality) that Ive seen nominated for years

The Tourist got nominated just so they could make Angelina, Brad, and Depp come to the awards because if not, none of them would set foot in the building. lol

Oh and I can't believe Scott Caan got nominated! Really??

Every actor that was left out on Modern Family should have been nominated before him.

I would like to go one year without Tina Fey, Steve Carrell, or 30 Rock being nominated....

The comedy/musical film category is always weak, but it's exceptionally weak this year.

And I actually liked The Tourist, but I know damn well it has no business being nominated for jack s**t!!!

They had stuff like Get Him To The Greek and Scott Pilgrim, that could have easily been in the Musical/Comedy category.

And again, while I enjoyed Red, seriously?!? It just seems pointless and random, especially when nothing else associated with the film got nominated for anything. I could understand nominating the film if that weren't the case. You couldn't throw Malcovich a bone? He genuinely was hilarious in that film.

I disagree most with this category:

9. Best Supporting Actor in a series, mini-series, or TV movie
Scott Caan - Hawaii 5-0
Chris Colfer, Glee
Chris Noth, The Good Wife
Eric Stonestreet, Modern Family
David Strathern, Temple Grandin

First of all, to lump all supporting actors into one category is a bit crazy. Second, look at the competition for that category....Bruce Campbell, Zach Gianafikis, Ted Danson, all of the Community cast, all of the Boardwalk Empire cast, Danny DeVito, Jeremy Piven (who despite a subpar Entourage season gave one of his best performances ever in the finale), Tim DeKay, Dule Hill, Neil Patrick Harris, Adam Baldwin, Ed O'Neill, Ty Burrell, and countless others.

All of these names are in the mix and the best that they can come up with is Chris Colfer, Chris Noth, and David Strathern? Terrible job on this category. TV's supporting categories need to be split up and even then, the academy needs to get their nominations in check, because this is just terrible.

I do agree they should spit it up between comedy and drama like they do with the emmys

Well, at least we still have the Emmy Awards to hopefully make things right.

They won't. Colfer for example, is a way of making a political statement. His performance is no where near on the level of those I listed, but he will receive nominations because his role tackles a hot button issue. Noth is on the show that the entertainment media is currently in love with, so he will get one even if he doesn't deserve it, etc. The Emmys and Golden Globes are no longer about rewarding the best. They are about rewarding the mainstream and making political statements. Otherwise, the entire cast of Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia would be nominated (at least 3 of the 5), half of USA's actors would be up there, and there would be a hell of a lot less nominations of network shows.

Or they just have different opinions. Colfer's performance is one of the most acclaimed on the current TV scene, from critics as well (and this is from someone who has seriously overdosed on Kurt as a character).

The Supporting categories really are funny, though. The Globes given themselves twice as many nominations for the film lead categories as the Oscars have, but only a third as many supporting category nominations as the Emmys have (combining the Drama, Comedy, and Miniseries categories into one - actually, the Supporting Actor TV nominees are a neat split along those lines: Noth and Caan from the dramas, Colfer and Stonestreet from the comedies, Straithairn from a miniseries/tv movie).

So are all of the performances that I listed (critically acclaimed), and furthermore, they are better than Colfer. Thus, it is mind boggling that he is nominated.

Dule Hill and Psych in general has deserved one for almost 6 years. NEver so much as a nod :(

To varying degrees.
and furthermore, they are better than Colfer.
The critics and awards organizations obviously don't think so.

Just because you might nominate somebody else doesn't mean that everyone else is only doing so for "political" reasons; they may genuinely like him more.

If they want to award someone for playing a gay teenager to make a statement it should be Keir Gilchrist for playing Marshall on United States of Tara.

The actor and his character is sooooooo much better than Chris Colfer/Kurt

That, I'll agree with.

Agreed. But its less mainstream, thus less of a political statement.

Comeon dude, these award shows exist to make political statements.
