    Happy Thanksgiving, Guest!

The Amazing Spider-Man The Amazing Nitpick Thread

I think it's kind of funny that the Lizard doesn't have "a snout" like people proclaimed he'd have. =\ Looks exactly like the toys and concept art (only maybe a bit bigger?)

Maybe there's hope for his final scene or transformation.

Looks like a damn Goomba otherwise.

Don't listen to what others say. He won't have a snout. Ever. Period.

Also, I know it means squat, but I'm sorry you feel so harshly on the reboot and that you just don't like it. I dunno if you just don't want to, or you really don't, but either way, this must suck. You're obviously a Spider-Man fan and it must be killing you to see all this.

I will agree with you that Sony was terrible to Sam. There's no two ways around that. But just because they did a terrible thing, doesn't mean you have to hope that Spider-Man becomes ruined. I mean, you obviously think he's already ruined, but if this movie does poorly, like you want, then we might not see ANY Spider-Man for a while, good or bad. And wouldn't that REALLY blow?

Thank you.
No. I really want to like it. I was saying in the other thread how even though I think Hulk was a flawed movie, I liked it and wanted Hulk 2. I was mad when they rebooted it but after a few news bits and stuff I got excited. This movie is just losing me every time. I like the cast members, but the suit, Lizard, etc just kills me. I want to like it but I can't. I was even excited for the trailer in hopes maybe it'd be good.

- I don't like the Lizard's flat face

- Andrew Garfield's voice is a bit wierd for Parker in my opinion.

- I'm not really that impressed with Emma Stone's "Gwen Stacy".

- I'm not a big fan of Spidey's new slimmer build.

Those are really the only problems I have though, everything elses looks pretty good and I'm definately going to keep my eye out for this film.

He's probably meaning from Maguire to Garfield.

I like skinny Spidey in the comics but I don't think it works well on screen now that I have seen it.

The problem is mostly your attitude webhead731... If you weren't so determined on finding every possible little flaw, you would see that the trailer is actually great.

What's so magical and perfect about the Raimi series? If you hated those movies as much as well I bet those trailers would look bad too

I'm gonna leave this thread because this is mostly for the blind haters, nothing is enough for you just because you don't like the idea of a reboot

Wow. Awesome. I give him this heart-felt apology and you slap him in the face.

Bravo.

I was just saying what I was thinking. Ok maybe I shouldn't just judge everyone who doesn't like this movie, maybe that makes me just as stubborn as the haters, dunno...

Haters just make my blood boil, and there's no way knowing who are the blind haters and who really just don't like what the movie is about. Everyone always says the "I'd really really like to love this film but I just can't" so there's no way to know if webhead731 really doesn't like the film or if his too stubborn to like it

There's not really anything we can do either way, Wallcrawler. The best we can do is just enjoy it, and have confidence in the product enough so that we don't get ******** by the people who--for whatever reason--don't like it. :)

The webshooters close up. They really should have gone for a kind of pneumatics setup. You mean to tell me something that looks like the inside of my wristwatch can propel a sticky substance at break neck velocity. Nah man.

If you have pneumatics you can have a cool sound effect, you can have a bit of air puffing out everytime he fires it. I'm willing to buy Parker can create the webshooters, I prefer them to organic webbing but I'm not convined by the tech it's seemingly made of.

I don't think this looks like something that can shoot webbing with the required velocity Spiderman normally uses.

Plus lights and edgy stuff combined with gears ? :whatever:

I guess, this is a nitpick, but in the scene where Spidey goes "Woo!", it sounds A LOT like Tobey. It's not really a bad thing but you do notice it.

What about the spider-powers? :oldrazz:

What about 'em I think they're cool. Or did you mean he uses his powers to fire the webbing ?

No, you're talking about how the web-shooter in the film wouldn't actually be able to fire webbing like that, but you completely forgot that he has spider-powers so realism in that sense is just insane.

In my opinion, that's a very good thing.

Ah like that. Well I think most of my nitpicking has more to do with that I believe it could have looked cooler and more high tech. Instead of kinda fragile.

And just because I believe an alien can arrive on Earth from Krypton, have super strength and fly under a yellow sun does not mean I believe glasses make a convincing disguise. Suspension of disbelief works in levels I think.

But I'm really nitpicking here because I really loved everything else.

I'm still on the fence on whether or not I like the mechanical web shooters more than the organic route they took route in Raimi's film.

They're about neck and neck right now, I'll probably make up my mind after the release of the next trailer.

The stripe down the leg. Still not a fan. But the rest of the costume I really like, especially the mask
