The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Video Game Thread - Part 1

I want a game that runs until the Gwen Stacy's dead in the 616 universe as shown in "Marvels" (or somekind of Alex Ross style of Spider-Man, darker).

marvels2.jpg
That could theoretically be the definitive Marvel video game.

I want Green Goblin or Doc Ock, preferably the first one (or both?) to be the main villain. I want Green Goblin to finally be a memorable game villain.

I'd like for MJ to return and be a strong female character. I also want a story that's not about a symbiote/virus invasion, or different versions of Spider-Man. And no more generic robots, please!

Yes, to all of this.

Getting real impatient with beenox they had good opportunities to deliver and failed I have to say they were alot better in 2012 but this is redicuous

Most of them are still on vacation... ? Wait until tomorrow, that's when most start to work again.

Okay then I at least want to see some gameplay footage and images and also who the voice actors are

I hope they have the actors (Andrew, Emma, Jamie etc.) as voice actors but I wouldn't hold my breath on that one. It's safe to assume that they get the old voice actors from the last game again.

I don't think we'll get a proper trailer (uncut gameplay footage), but if you look at the trailers for TASM1 it was always gameplay footage (with custom camera angles). So it's safe to say that you get to see gameplay footage.

I remembered a thing I wanted to say, but didn't
Last game with Green Goblin as head honcho is the first movie game, the Raimi one
I hope we at least get to web swing as Peter Parker.
Play Ultimate Spider-Man :D
Welcome to the boards, I guess

I've never played USM but I'm not interested to. I'm not a fan of the Ultimate Spider-Man world.

didnt cashforstash wherever he is, said that he saw jamie foxx in the studio? where has he even been recently

Anyon.e like Sam Riegal as PP/SM I didnt like him very much I thought he was okay but he didnt sound like AG. I figure if you're playing movie Spider-Man you at least need a voice actor who sounds like the actor

I think he trolled us too. Anyway lets get back on topic.

I'd love to get back on-topic but I'm afraid we've gone through all things we could ever discuss about due to the lack of information coming from Beenox.

Suggest a topic if you have one...

-My wishlist for The Amazing Spider-Man 3 game or future Beenox Spider-Man Games:
. A Spider-Man voice veteran like Keaton or Barnes or even Garfield
. More web swinging poses and styles
. Many different wise cracks because in tasm 1 video game i heard Sam Riguel say the same wise crack over and over until i had to mute my tv.
. Better Graphics and Detailed Villains, Buildings, Car and People models.
. Realistic and detailed AI reactions, for example; Enemies realise if someone is missing and get nervous and maybe call for backup.
. A story that is not related to the movie and is not about a post apocalyptic NY
. The ability to web swing as Peter Parker.
. The ability to do the web yoyo at will (For example, press left d-pad)
. You can visit Queens and Lady Liberty
. Many different unique interiors to enter during free roam, e,g;
. Improved combat system and fluid animations for stealth takedowns
. Densely populated areas full of different people models
. A longer story filled with unique Enemie encounters.
. Villains i want to fight against or see:
. Black Cat
.Hydro-man
.Kraven
.Green Goblin
.Venom
.Morbius
.Kingpin
.Vulture
.Doc ock
.Jackal
.Shocker
.Electro
.Chameleon
.Bettle
.Carnage
.Man wolf
.Mysterio
. Hammerhead
. Sandman
. Scorpion
. Playable Enemies
. Many playable suits with different civilian reacts e.g; the amazing bag man suit can have people laughing at spidey and iron spider can have people wowwing or the spiderman 2099 can have people saying "Is he from the future".
. Each suit has a unique ability e.g; spider man 2099 can glide in the sky or Iron spider can fly and use claws to climb up buildings.
. Unlimited crime is a must and different types of crime like save someone from a burning building or catch someone falling from a building.
. The ability to choose to equip web shooters or not when your about to leave your apartment.
. The ability to sleep in game and choose how long for e.g; sleep for a in game week and see the crime rate rise
. If spidey doesn't rest often we can see a change in combat and web swinging.
I have more wishes and cool ideas.

I actually really liked Sam Riegal, but I'm hoping that they can get Andrew to voice him in this one.

I hope they did get Andrew or at least someone that sounds like, like I said I wasnt saisfied with Riegal

That's an awesome list man!

Also, welcome to the Hype!

I'm about to make a SUPER ignorant statement but oh well, Rocksteady kind of has the same mentality I do in terms of designing a super hero game. Personally, I don't understand how it's so hard for Beenox to make something truly spectacular? Like Rocksteady said while developing their Batman games "They have so much cannon to draw from and inspire them, the ground work has pretty much been laid for them."

That's how I feel a Spider-Man game should be approached. There are so many stories to draw inspiration from that I'm surprised Beenox feels they need to make their own unique/original story. I feel like it would resonate better with Spider-Man fans if they just simply designed encounters around various comic book panels etc.

A gameplay mechanic that I'd love to see implemented in a Spider-Man game is the idea of choice. To me, that's a HUGE element of Spider-Man as a character. He is constantly forced to make tough decisions and I think that'd be something cool to see in a Spider-Man game.

For instance, lets say you're fighting Shocker in the populated streets of Times Square. You dodge one of his vibro-shocks and it ends up hitting a bystander. They're hurt. Shocker uses that as a distraction to slip away. What do you, Spider-Man, choose to do? Do you take care of the pedestrian or do you go after Shocker? Do you try and do Spider-Man's drive to please everyone? Do you take care of the pedestrian and websling like crazy back to the fight to try and track down Shocker?

That, I feel, would drastically increase the replay value of the title. Another thing, I'd like a Spider-Man game that isn't so linear. Where all of the encounters are not intertwined/steam lined like episodes.

The Lizard is my favorite villain in Spider-Man's rogues gallery. I think it'd be awesome if they created a free roam sewer space below New York. Instead of dropping down a single manhole and triggering an event, I'd love to BE Spider-Man. Crawling through various sewer pipes and exploring the system for The Lizard. Maybe even creating a Spider web like in ASM and trying to track him down.

Another thing that would be awesome is for fans to use their knowledge of the various villains to track them down. Lets say the Lizard escapes you. Using your fan knowledge of The Lizard, where are the likely places he'd be at?

1. Connor's Lab
2. The Reptile exhibit at the Bronx Zoo
3. The Connor's family home

It'd be fun to have various locations you, as a fan, can swing to try and track him down.

I feel that's why the Arkham games are so successful. They're designed in a way where they are kind of connected but they're different stories within a large story. With various Spider-Man games, it always feels as though a story is written to connect each and every character together and justify their purpose within the story. I think that's something that needs to be broken and treat each villain as an individual arc.

These are some very good ideas ideas and ones i'd like to see implemented, I liked the fact fact on SM3 that you have the sub way stations and under ground but I do like the sewer ideas soo these are very interesting.

I'd like to see Hobby make his villian debut in the games now I want to see him in one soo bad

Hahaha Hobgoblin is MUST in a Spider-Man game for sure. Especially with the tech advancements we have. Treyarch did a beautiful job with the ariel battles in the first Spider-Man movie game.

I'd like it where, when approaching Hobgoblin on his glider, it'd be awesome to press the punch button at the right time when approaching Hobby from the back of his glider. (Not a QTE) and watch Spidey grab a handful of his cape to pull himself up onto Hobgoblins glider. From here, you proceed to punch Hobby's rubber face while the glider sporadically flies around the air.

Yes, that would be awesome I always love some aerial battles I would also like it if you attach a web line to the glider that he tries to swing you off or trying to hrl you into building or whatever is near esp cars or semi's and you have to dodge with with no qte's allowing for awesone aerials and cinematics depending on what he's trying to fling you in

Well, Beenox hasn't been given the freedom, resources, time and trust that Rocksteady has. Activision is basically the ****tiest publisher out there, IMO even more so than EA. And as you've read, it seems Activision basically demands the devs to strive for cheap and mediocre games.

IMO, I'm all for unique and original stories as long as they're true to the characters and comics. I don't want a game that copies a specific comic book story, I can go read that comic book instead. Also, most comic book stories wouldn't fit for a game, as those aren't written with games in mind. Inspiration, yes. But that's about it.

Doesn't mean I like Beenox's stories. I don't, even though the one for EoT seems very interesting but with an underuse of villains.

To me, it would feel almost out of character for Spidey to ignore a civilian in danger, so I'm not a fan of being given that choice at all. It's definitely better than the totally out of character good/evil choices in WoS, but even if it's more grey I think such choices risk making Spidey feel out of character. I think freedom of choice is cool in some games, but overall I'd say it's very overrated. I'd much rather have a more focused story.

That's also why I prefer more steam lined episodes - to make the game feel more focused. The main story, that is. With side missions and lots to do in the city, the whole thing would feel less intertwined while having a clear story.

As a big fan of Lizard, I completely agree!

You have to keep the general gamers in mind, not just the hardcore Spidey fans. If you're just left there with no clue where to go, with the devs just expecting you to know already, then that would be a bad game design in similar ways as to what reviewers have said about Killzone Shadow Fall, though much worse since you've got a whole city. Sure, you could have Connor's Lab or home on the map and have been there Before in the game, but it's still not clear enough to know you're supposed to go there. It's much better IMO to have Spidey monologue that he has to make sure Lizard isn't hurting the family, and make sure you know you have to get there quickly.

Yeah I agree about this. I too would like several games to make an overarching story.
