Here's hoping the new trailer has at least a few shots of what we can expect for the newest gen graphics.
 
Hey guys. I hope that this game is better than the last couple spiderman games. Is it me or does it seem like there's no real incentive or excitement to finish the games or replay them anymore?

Shattered had tons of unlockable content but the gameplay wasn't that fun. Amazing Spiderman's combat had better controller rumble but it still felt automated and was a stiff copy of the Arkham games. I think the hardest issue for making Spiderman games is making them fun and entertaining. Imo Spiderman should be able to bounce off walls,walk on walls,run along side walls,do wall run hits,bounce from opponent to opponent,dodge bullets mid air and on the ground, have tricks on the ground and the air(SM2),use his webs in other ways than web bullet. Imo Spiderman's combat should be less cartoony like Shattered Dimensions web based Amazing Spiderman and more entertaining like the combat from the DMC series.

I used to like the webbing system in the previous spiderman games better. Ever since Spiderman 3 on ps2 it seems liked the only "webbing" spiderman can do is web bullets. And I didn't care for Beenox's targeting system(or lack of) in their games. You couldn't aim the web anywhere other than in front of you.

I think it's important that we can fire a web line,bullet,thick web...anywhere we want. We should be able to aim. It's so limiting and I don't understand why that is. I am hoping that Beenox will fix these issues and improve the things that did work in their games and games past.

I mean even Spider-Man 2 has its haters
Spider-Man 2 started greater quality, displayed greatly more potential than previous games, I think it deserves appreciation even by people who dislike it, but at the same time, it has 2 major flaws that should have never been there in the first place:
1. Removing "select level menu", not allowing us to replay favorite story missions with full upgrades
2. All the required tasks to be done before playing another story mission
These two faults cost it to be less than a 9/10

Amazing Spider-Man 1 cancelled those two issues, but it has issues of its own
What I hope they do with the new game is to take the best of both games
 
Half of it is complete, the pant wetting will commence on the 7th if the trailer comes out! Hopefully they display next gen graphics this time around!
 
@Aziz. Spiderman 2 was amazing. They need that swing system though. And I wouldn't be mad if they added some new features to it though. Just copying it is not enough. As I mentioned before, the biggest issue they have is making the free roam fun and making playing as Spiderman fun. The Ai is usually very piss poor or just normal thugs and imo it hurts Spidey alot. There isn't enough variety in the games. I wish a developer like Sucker Punch could do a Spiderman game....
 
Spider-Man 2 greatest achievements remain in making the free roam stylish and fantastically looking
And a good looking city looking cel-shaded sometimes, more to the realistic side at other times, with great day-night cycle system
And the choice of web swinging, and locomotion style

And they had the tricks in the air and I liked the combos and the spider sense alot more than the newest games. Web of shadows was really good too. The combos were pretty awesome. It ditched some of the stylish combos from Sm2 and Sm3 but I liked the progress tree alot.
 
Starting to doubt that they're gonna show it on vgx now. If they were i'm sure they would have tweeted about it.

Yea, but why not say this week or at the vgx, instead of saying "soon" which could mean anything.

I'm hoping we really see some next gen improvments as Ive got my ps4 preorder coming in januar, but since its cross gen like assassins creed, its probably not gonna be that different, especially at the hands of beenox, its probably going to be a direct port with a higher res.:doh:

I wouldn't hold my breath on that. The teaser trailer they had was an outright downgrade of the last game (in terms of graphics) and the same happened to Spider-Man 3 on the PS2. It was a downgrade of SM2 whereas all the detail and attention went to the PS3/360 version. Well a bit more than 4 hours and we know more. It's safe to say that we get to see a trailer at the VGX because that was also the place they showed off the first trailer for TASM1 (which was scheduled ~2-3 months after TASM2 will be released, so they're most likely closer to a final build than they were back then with TASM1).
 
Will there be a PS3 port? I won't be getting PS4 for another year or two.
 
I hope this game is good, it will be the first game I play on a next gen console
 
After watching the movie trailer I seriously want them to add the proper web shooter sound. I also hope they properly use the huge amount of RAM they have in next gen consoles (compared to the fraction they have in PS3/360). Imagine web-rush looking like this:

More dynamic and realistic. All my hopes are on proper physics based swinging mechanics. I want the web to be elastic and the swinging to be fast and fluid with quite a bit of force behind every swing.
 
I agree with what u said. I also wish they would expand the type of webs spidey can use. Web line with targeting. In general the targeting system isn't that great at all. U can't aI'm and shot. Its so limited. In beenoxs game u can only fire a double webline by holding circle but its ONLY in front of u! So like u said physics system needs to be improved.
