The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Video Game Thread - Part 1

Spider-Man 3 was superior to Spider-Man 2 in any way if you compare PS2 SM2 with PS3/360 SM3. The web swinging was more realistic (webs behaved better but they sacrificed a lot of speed) and the overall feel in the city was superior. It's still my go to Spider-Man game if I ever feel like playing Spidey games (I hope that changes with TASM2 since it's next gen and has, hopefully, better web swinging).
True that Spider-Man 3 is better, but there are certain aspects of superiority in Spider-Man 2:
*Arcade stores for training
*You can skip the locomotion tutorial if you don't want to sit through it again
*Swinging from helicopters
*More variety in street missions, and the ability to do two at once
*You can pull a thug and carry him while swinging
*Mysterio (I love that dude)

I'd welcome return of these bits in a future game

that was just my gripes and the fact that black costume took the full speed and I only played the ps2 version and not the ps3
it was almost the same ultimate spider-man I wanted to swing fster and let out more than one web and the voice actor i'm sorry I couldnt stand Ultimate Spidey's va I keep hearing that annoying voice every time I read Ultimate Spider-man I keep having to turn on josh keaton just try and hear his voice while im readin usm
web of shadows and usm had the most annoying voice actos that you just wanted to mute it or figure out how to replace their voice

Ok
That game story has Ron Marz as one of the writers, I loved that about it cause he wrote a good Green Lantern series

Yeah that one was pretty much crap I hope ps4 has cross gen then i'll pick it up and try but I was only able to play 3 for a short time

The fun thing about the PS2 version of SM3 is seeing Spider-Man sliding off the car he stands on when it moves :oldrazz:
I enjoyed the overall game, nothing special about it, but I enjoy it

If you played the PS2 version of SM3, then you played the crappy one.

I owe a debt of gratitude to that version of the game.

It inspired me to get an Xbox 360 sooner rather than later.

And @FN Spiderman,......

If you haven't played the PS3/360 version of SM3, get it ASAP.

It's the closest to perfection we've ever had in a Spider-Man game experience.

I will but i'll be on the late freight I hope they make it cross because my aim right now is ps4

Seems like beenox isn't too excited about the game. The tweet about the trailer feelt like an annoyance to them. Instead of, the trailer! We can't wait to show you what we've been up to!

We got, yeah, it's coming....

SM3 had without a doubt more variety in street missions. I still find new crimes when playing the game (last time I played I came across a robbery where they stole paintings).

i didnt like spider-man 3 cause of losing the double shoot web
I take it you didn't play the PS3/360/PC Version then? It had double web swinging (by pressing L2 + R2 at the same time). You can't compare PS2 SM3 with PS3 SM3, the difference is immense.

I played abit of that one and only alittle since my bro was being stingy with his ps3 and it was a rental >.>
Good to know i'll pick it up next time

Beware, the PS3 version of SM3 is one of the worst optimized games out there (lead plat was 360, 360 version runs indefinitely better than the PS3 version). Don't be surprised if a bridge texture fails to load until you're about to land on it. It also has a lot of FPS drops... sucks I know but it's still more enjoyable than most SM games.

Lol that's pretty funny and thinks for the warning
Since tasm2 is goin to have winter I think its about we get winter in ny in a game at least seasonal changes

I'm super excited for the game but I'm pretty sure it's more than half incomplete. The trailer we got I'm pretty sure was just sort of a "proof-of-concept" type deal.

I suppose. But they clearly didn't have enough to warrant a trailer. Should have waited.

You guys seem to forget the meaning of "teaser trailer". Look at the recently released Interstellar teaser trailer (by Chris Nolan). A teaser is there to tease something and not to show it off in all of its glory. I'm pretty sure they are further ahead than their teaser trailer suggests.

The PC version is a little ****ed up, too.

Nothing horrible, though. At least it's hilarious.

Haha! Paint me like one of your French girls :D

Had the webbing been solid black instead of that silver color it would have been 10x better.

I just installed Web of Shadows on PC (I played it on PS3). It's better than I remembered, and the updated graphics of the PC version are there, so that's a plus. It a game that I really enjoy, although the prologue is horrendous. The Luke Cage and Black Cat are slow as ****.

I'm not including the one time subplots, I mean the respawning missions
Spider-Man 2 has saving people from drowning boats, saving people from falling, helping money transfer security under attack, and I think there's a little more
Spider-Man 3 has punching thugs, stopping gang cars, and stop a speeding car
If it had saving people from falling, I'd love it, cause that game allowed me to place them on roofs, or toss them in the water

The PC version is a little ****ed up, too.

The prologue is a reason to identify the game story as $#%^
