Those flying Hunter robot battles in the city were some of the best stuff to come out of ASM. And actually the two robot boss battles were the best ones of the boss fights imo.

I actually forgot about the one where you fight the giant spider slayer on top of Oscorp. That was a great boss fight.

I hope the combat system is good enough this time as well as a better AI. The combat system in ASM was a little to stiff and almost automated. I like the fact that the animations changed but they need to find that sweet spot were the player has control of their actions AND LOOKS cool doing it. The issue with Shattered Dimensions was they had too many combos and it was hard to remember. I would have liked it if we could actually practice the combinations. I also felt like some of the moves looked freaking awesome but they lacked power(controller was dead most of the time) and they also could have been more dynamic and acrobatic.

I think so, but the game never really called them Spider Slayers. The big ones that you had to chase and land on were called Spider Slayers.
That's what I thought.

I loved being able to hop on them and they zoom around the city. Very cool visual.

I think it is inevitable in this game with Ultimate Rhino being in the movie.
That'd be so cool!

Yeah I agree. Definitely repetitive too.

Yup. I mean I liked the signature stuff a little bit but I had no control over it and I also noticed that Spidey was not as fluid either.

Exactly. I would love too see a combination of Web of Shadows advanced combos, Spiderman 2 and 3 combos and a little bit of the cool combos from Shattered. Combined with the ability to attack in multiple ways and more ways to use webbing in a more fluid way than just web bullet over and over and over and over and over....

I didn't think of this 'till just now. The cover shows Spidey yo-yo-ing from a bridge. Does that hint that we will be able to go to Queens? I mean why put that on the cover if we can't go across a bridge without Spidey swinging away and the game putting us back in Manhattan. I really hope Beenox got the city right this time, because the last game felt quite small for New York whereas Spider-man 2's New York felt really big.

The game description said that their NYC would be the largest in a Spidey game to date, so here's to hoping.

I'll be honest, I took that as largest Spidey game to date by Beenox.

Where did it say this again? In the synopsis for the game on best buy?

Also just seen that Amazon.com says, this item will be released on December 31st 2014. Haha! I know it's just a safety net but that's kinda funny when they could have just put spring 2014.

Map size means nothing if it isn't detailed and "alive". Take Arkham Origins for example. It has the largest but also the most dull map of the three (IMO).

I really hope the map isn't just bigger for the sake of being bigger.

Yeah because the map in ASM gave me no incentive to swing around in it and it was fun to travel around.

Totally agree. I'd rather have a smaller city that is well-populated with organically occurring events, bustling streets, sounds, a high level of detail and that sense of energy that you get in NYC. A gigantic city that feels empty like your swinging around a ghost town would be boring and pointless.

Trailer looks great. It definitely looks like a huge step up over the last game.

As soon as that VO started I was like
"KRAVEN."
He looks pretty cool, more intrigued about that plot now with him being involved in a strange way.

Just watched it after I posted it. The city looks nice and big, Oscorp looks more accurate, but I feel like this looks on the same level as the last one. Nothing really jumped out and told me that it'll be better. We'll see.

Is that Electro or Shocker?

It looks okay. I wasn't too impressed. Strange plot with Kraven. It does look on the very same level as the last one.
I'm curious to see what they improved/upgraded, and what they didn't. I'll keep waiting to check out more. Gameplay footage, reviews, etc.
The Peter Parker stuff looks cool. Anybody notice the black webbing? There was a shot of regular webbing and black webbing being used at the same time. Real strange. I also don't like how the webbing looks like during combat.
