Good one :D
Wonder what glitches this game will have

Hmmm....

I always liked it when I could glitch out of the map. I remember I broke the force field barrier on the bridge in SM2 while I was swinging into it, and I remember going over to brooklyn and everything was super low quality, like just dirty flatland.

Thought it was pretty cool though, It eventually just ended and there was a never ending blue void. The brooklyn/stretch of land did go on though for like 5 minutes or so, pretttttyyyy big chunk of land regardless.

That is not how it works at all. You're wrong.

I don't have proof but I know how these things work. It is not easier to develop for next gen and port it to last gen, it's easier to make it for the 360 and PS3 and port it to next gen at the moment. Do you think games like Assassins Creed IV Black Flag was made for next gen? No it was a port from the last gen brought up to 1080p for next gen.

Did you read what I put before? Games like Arkham Knight and Infamous: Second Son are built for next gen since they are only coming out for next gen systems.

Tell me, if it's so easy to port a next gen game over to last gen, why isn't Arkham Knight going to be on last gen? Or Infamous on the PS3? More systems mean more money right?

Because it's not possible.

Rocksteady have already stated that Arkham Knight won't work on last gen, the game is too big for the 360 and PS3. They said that the batmobile would be taken out of the game if it was on last gen, or if they wanted to put the batmobile in the game that would be all the last gen systems could handle.

Here's an article on it: http://www.thirteen1.com/2014/03/04/arkham-knight-batmobile-takes-enough-memory-full-xbox-360-game/

Also, like I said, I have no definite proof. But we did see in that Canadian news website clip that showed Beenox in Quebec testing the game with a 360 controller. I know it's not definite proof, but if the game was made for the next gen systems, why wasn't he testing the game with a PS4 controller, or a Xbox One controller? You'd think they would want to show off the next gen version right?

Finally, Beenox are not a big company, I do not believe they have access to next gen hardware to make a next gen game, and if they did build it for next gen, then we would not be able to play it on last gen since it shouldn't be able to handle it.

I have made these statements before. I even said if I'm wrong fair enough, but I'm confident in my opinion.

I do not wish to get into an argument again. :(

It is, just look at this link: http://www.polygon.com/2013/11/6/50...-4-development-was-nightmarish-on-current-gen

It is easier to develop for Next-gen because of the architecture. The architecture is more similar to the PC, making it more easy to develop it on the newer consoles. And it costs less to develop on next-gen to then port downwards to current gen. I know that very well and there are at lot of developers who agrees with that.

Ubisoft did not create Assassin's Creed IV on current gen and then ported up to next-gen. The two versions were developed separetely.

The only thing harder with Next-gen development is to create the experience the gamers expect. And the only downside is the compatiblity with some features like new autolog on NFS Rivals, second screen capabilities and so on.

Beenox can create on Next-gen to then port down to last gen. It is a lot easier to scale down the graphics to make it function on the last gen. Ubisoft even said that alot of times during the black flag development. Rocksteady could also port the Arkham knight to last gen, they would just have to scale down everything, remove all the polygons from the batmobile and still make it work. It takes less time that way, then to add the polygons the other way if you were to make it from last gen to next-gen. And it also depends on the game engine you use. Beenox are using the same engine from the last game, but they develop it on next-gen with their own team most likely, while a second one develops it on current-gen.

Update: I figured out the Ubisoft ported upward from AC IV: Black Flag, but the development on Next-gen was still easier for them because of the hardware and architecture.
But it is still more effective to develop on PC, then port it to next-gen consoles and then current gen. Other developers say that. Watch Dogs is created first on PC, then ported to next-gen and current gen. I can find proof for that.

This link here proves my argument: http://www.pcgamer.com/2013/02/27/watch-dogs-is-targeting-pc-as-lead-platform/
It proves my point that porting down to current gen is better. You expect fewer problems when porting from PC, to PS4 and then PS3, who have a different infrastructure.

And to answer you on the part where Beenox tested the game with a Xbox controller. Easy, PC development. They could make it on PC, and port it to next-gen and then last gen. Xbox controllers can be used on both the Xbox itself and PC, depending on how the controller was connected.

What if... Beenox started development on the game before they got their hands on the PS4/XBone.... ? :whatever:

That's likely, I have this feeling that Activision wanted a port to next gen because more systems mean more money.

I think I misread your last post, apologies! :D

It is easier the way you described it, I thought you meant games built for next gen like Arkham Knight or Infamous Second Son could be ported to last gen but like you said they would have to be severely stripped down to function on last gen like the batmobile taking up so much data for last gen.

I'm a dummy!

D'oh!

We all need this footage to come out, pronto so we can finally make our opinions!

I wonder what Peter will look like in this game.

They so cheaped out on that fact in ASM1. Like really, a Spider-Man game without seeing Peters face once?

Aside from the costume and the Lizard/Oscorp, the game was hardly based on the movie.

Which I liked, because I thought the movie was lame. I felt like they strayed away as much as possible.

Even gave us the suits from the last series lol.

Honestly guys, you have to look at it this way...okay, so we haven't received a ton of news. It's not that big of a deal. Sure we're losing faith in this game and if the past is anything to go off of, we shouldn't have high hopes for this game.

From what they've shown, it looks like history will be repeating itself. However, it's best to remain optimistic and look at it this way...they could possibly surprise us. They SEEM to be taking the feedback received from the last game and expanding on it. Just look at that small car chase sequence...different camera that is very reminiscent to Spider-Man 2: The Movie.

The less information we have about the game, the more we're able to enjoy it first hand while experiencing it through gameplay. I know that's a lame, "Hey the glass is half full" type mentality but that's what is keeping me from grabbing my pitchfork and axe. haha I'd really love to have a Spider-Man game that delivers a truly memorable experience similar to the Spider-Man 2 game.

While I don't think this may be it, we won't know until we see/actually play it for ourselves. Hopefully the trailer releases tomorrow.

I'm optimistic about this game and I too hope we will be surprised by this game. That trailer can't come soon enough! But we still need more after that. If everything Beenox has said about this game is as good as it sounds then they need to show it.

My optimism comes from the info we got on January 30th and the fact that they are taking our ideas on board.

They without a doubt did, that's why they most likely started on PC. A lot of the studios only got their consoles very close to the retail release dates of the consoles. That's the most likely reason for why we only get a PS3/360 teaser trailer at comic con, because the next gen version simply wasn't ready yet for the public eye.

One thing that's made me disappointed in the past few Spider-Man games as far as movement goes, is the lack of a sprint button and a charged jump. Something about swinging then hitting the top of a building and charge jumping off into another swing feels so Spider-Man like that the recent games are lacking.

i think its monday now, I hope they release the trailer today or at least give the exact date.

Man I just want to buy this game.

I remember I bought a X360 in 2006 when I first saw the trailer for the SM3 game because I was soooooo excited to play the first Spidey game on a next generation console. And I knew that the ps2 verision would not be as good.

Boy was I right, the ps2 verision of SM3 was absolutely horrible, and the 360 verision was pretty good imo.
They were basically two different games. Treyarch made the PS3/360/PC version and Vicarious Visions made the PS2/Wii version so the games were completely different. The same thing was done with Splinter Cell: Double Agent at the time. Game companies should do that now so the next-gen versions would be better.

We probably won't see it until the end of March IMO.

The PS2 version of SM3 was kinda tossed late toward VV, I'm sure they could have made something better if given more time

So what do you guys think the magic day will be this week?

Someone said Thursday if I'm not mistaken? Just like the last trailer we got.

I'm goign with Thusday, as well. Wednesday or Thursday.
