At least we'll have a description of the game from someone other than Beenox, hoping for positive feedback.

I feel like we've all been in the desert dying of thirst and now there seems to be an oasis on the horizon.

I hope the walkthrough will be the day after Wednesday and not the following week and I'm hoping the people who play it will put some of our fears to rest by telling us whether the swinging is good or not.

I doubt they'll be able to play it. Most interviews with media outlets show off pre-recorded footage. The playable stuff is usually at booths hardly any media outlet goes to after they're done with the interview (maybe a reporter is a fan and wants to try it out, but most reporters will simply use the footage and write about that. Has always been like that). I mean Beenox isn't the only dev they have to interview, no time to visit a booth for a "movie tie-in".

From Beenox themselves:

"The expo starts Wednesday, so don't expect anything before March 19th. New assets will be released during that day for sure. Various medial outlets will preview the game and reveal their impressions. We don't know if the GDC demo will be filmed. However, we were told the Developer Walk Through video will probably be released just after GDC."

It just seems to me like they can't make any valid impressions if they can't play it at a booth during GDC.

Playing a game is different to watching a game after all.

Eh, I'm sure they'll get a decent impression of how good the game is. Also Beenox showing this game off to websites and the press hopefully means they are somewhat proud of the game they've made. I think the whole "they don't want to show the game because it's crap" argument is now void.

I wonder if Beenox will use the fabled walkthrough trailer as the preview! XD

Never said they don't want to show it off, it's just not usual to have people play the game in interviews. Look at E3, they showcased the same pre-recorded footage in all interviews. It doesn't have to do anything with them thinking the game is bad but with them wanting to show as much as possible. I imagine I would probably just freeroam etc. without doing a lot of things, thats why they show pre-recorded stuff: they want to show as much as possible without someone getting carried away by playing the game. Also, people playing a game can't focus properly on asking questions.

They will, without a doubt, have access to a demo in their booth but I doubt a lot of people will go there (because most of them has a packed schedule).

Well, I'm sure some of them will find the time to play it.

I pretty much gave up on this game. Not gonna lie.

I'll wait til more gameplay footage I guess? But I'm not sure if I even see myself buying it at the moment.

That's a real shame. This is unfortunately what bad marketing will do to customers. :(

I'm actually really looking forward to this game. I enjoyed the first one, though it had its problems one of them being the free roam, but the game was still enjoyable. Everything I'm hearing about TASM2 game sounds good, now we just need to see some more gameplay footage.

Wow I just bought TASM 1 and I have to say, I loved it a lot more when I played it last back in Summer of 2012.

Like it feels like it's too automated, and it lacks some serious physics. But it's still kinda fun, and the graphics are really good. I'd say it's a 7/10 still. Pretty sucked into getting a 100% done.

This one hopefully is Spider-Man 2 in HD, I want some real physics.

PS! Also, I'm gone literally for like 4 days and I come back to zero news whatsoever on this game? Wow Activision, way to **** the bed.

Yeah me too! I liked the first game but I think Spider-man games should never go back to sky swinging. At least if they're free roam.

Sky swinging only works in small areas or enclosed levels.

SM1 for 2002 kinda had it down, still felt weird, but for some reason felt like it had more physics than ASM1 agreed?

In some ways yeah. If you want ASM1 swinging to look glitchy then pull back on the analogue stick and try to keep him in the same position. I also didn't like how Spidey jumped straight up every time you jumped, no way to do a running jump or dive off a building.

I actually really like SM1: the game. It took a lot of elements from the PS1 game and felt very inspired by the 2002 film, despite taking liberties from the storyline.

Love it too!

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. A lot of the gameplay mechanics were straight from Spider-man 2000 and Enter Electro but impoved. In some ways, it was like a 3rd game in a Spider-man (2002) costume.

Man, when I found out you could play as the Green Goblin I lost my ****! So awesome, I wish more Spidey games did that, I remember as a kid looking up on the internet if there was a way to play as Doc Ock in Spider-man 2. XD

I agree with you completely. The controls were very similar and it followed the same structure as the PS1 games. This probably has to do with the fact that it was made only a year after "Enter Electro" came out. :)

Oh yeah, I remember that! I think they made it so that you were actually Harry Osborn in Norman's Goblin costume. You hear him narrate about finding his father's lab and using the equipment to find Norman's killer. Now if you could have played as Doc Ock in SM2, that would have been PERFECT.

Yep you played as Harry trying to find out what happened to his father, and he was voiced by Josh Keaton.......mind blowing!

For ASM, I really liked the indoor swinging that Beenox created.

Man it has been my DREAM to get on the streets in any city level in SM1 2002.

I have it still for PS2, are there any glitches you guys found so you can at least get close to the ground? I just want to see what it looks like from street view. The streets/cars/lamposts/etc all look pretty detailed for 2002.

THERE HAS TO BE A WAY!!!!! Halp?

And agreed, it's my second favorite Spider-Man game.

Looks probably low-res up close and no collisions I'd assume (you fall through the ground).
