Looks exactly like the first game with more annoying enemies and slightly improved graphics. I think I'll pass.

Graphics don't look improved to me, and it is a good attitude to not get excited about it

The only thing that stuck out to me is the slingshot I don't see much that's changed
and Spider-Man is not Batman he should be all over the place

Didn't show much of the swinging, but from what they showed I'm still not sold by it... Sigh.

If the graphics are improved, it's barely. But the textures definitely look better. The cobblestone in the fight they kept showing was surprisingly detailed. However, I also saw Spider-Man's feet going through the floor during the part where he finds the new suit -_-

Gameplay looks fantastic! I love that you can collect different suits like the anti-electric one!

To be all over the place Spider-Man needs faster animation for him alone, some seem to dislike it cause it gives them a headache, but the web rush mechanic kinda make up for that
Beenox think they owe the fans, and I applaud to them for that

>Movie game
>9-8 year old consoles
>Fanbase wants a miracle graphically.

Look, if this were a PS4/XOne exclusive game, sure, you'd get your wishes. Instead it's a 360/PS3 game that's going to be ported over to the slightly more powerful Wii U and tech that's double its strength in the PS4/One versions. What you're going to see is improved FPS and slightly improved lighting. Just like all versions in this weird gen transitional period.

There are HUNDREDS of PS3 titles that put this game to shame graphically. Don't even start.

Yeah, just ignore at what appears to be poor texture work on the buildings, likely bad AA and possibly unstable framerate. The lighting looks decent, but this doesn't really look like a "next-gen" game. The draw distance looks nice, but those buildings just look copy and pasted. People's standards in terms of open world graphics (post GTA V and InFamous) aren't going to be doing this game any favors that's for sure lol

Do you even know the meaning of the terms you just used? Not only is Spidey under a light shaft, but it causes him to cast self-shadows in a rather realistic way. Most self-shadowing in games leads to one type of casting on the surface of the subject's body, but we can see the shadows bending appropriately under the light in the screen shot of Spidey.

Next, I see no aliasing what so ever, and my computer monitor resolution is set to 1440x900 (16:10 widescreen). You have ZERO way of determining the framerate based on a PHOTO STILL. What makes something appear animated is the speed at which individual images are shown in rapid succession. So the only way to tell what the frame rate is, is by observing the game in motion.

As for the buildings, those are all rather diverse in height and architectural style. A developer from Beenox even gave an interview in which he notes that special attention was given to creating a more believable city, which included attention to building variation in height and aesthetic.

And just by listing iNfamous, I can tell you are a console gamer. You should be among the least judgmental about anything related to graphics, because from my perspective (PC gamer), it would be quite easy to say that Grand Theft Auto V and iNfamous look like garbage on consoles. Grand Theft Auto V doesn't even look as good as the PC edition of GTA IV with the ICE mod.

I don't know whom you are trying to impress with your poorly phrased rhetoric. This isn't some pissing contest. If you enjoy this game, great, if not, then keep complaints objective. And no, you aren't being objective when you use art terms incorrectly. That just makes you inconsiderate of those whom wish to have a genuine discussion about this game.

And before any one wonders about the GTA comparison

That is GTA IV with the ICEnhancer mod. ^

That is Grand Theft Auto V. ^ So we can return to our lovely conversation about Amazing Spider-Man 2 and stop worrying about "expectations" from newer open world games. Especially when those expectations are rather abysmal when put in a more grand perspective.

Yes. They are also not made on a development schedule of a freaking movie game. I've been a paid game critic since shortly before the release of Ultimate Spider-man. This ain't my first rodeo, I think I can start.

I like you.

I wanst to fond of the web rush because I felt there wasnt enough animations and I want to do it manually spider-man 2 & 3 gave me that great feeling of being a human pinball TASM2 has spidey moving fast but the games doesn't its just the way I view Spidey should be and this game so far doesn;t meet all of my expectations

can someone edit that interview so we can only see gameplay cause man I got bored just hearing the guy talk

Excited about this! I thought that trailer looked awesome, and love the look of the web swinging. I thought the first one was great, and didn't mind the web swinging too much, the only thing I hated about it was finite crimes...but now that that's taken care of, I am pre-ordering this xD.

Also really happy they've added a few elements that a lot of RPGs have. Such as dialogue choices, several outfits with different stats (not really stats in this case, but perks) that are upgradable, different web types, and the morality system. I'm not expecting any of these things to be incredible, but I'm happy they've added them. i know the game isn't going to be the best thing ever made by any means, but I think it looks like it could be one of the best movie based games / spider-man games

Web swinging looks pretty similar to TASM. I'm not completely against it, but it looks a little slow I must say.

The graphics look very improved on from TASM when you look at details.

I love that there seems to be much more variety to enemy skins and types this time!

The combat looks pretty much the same on its core, but at least it looks like they've fixed some of the animation problems. It still looks a little too stiff though. I also REALLY like that they mix up the combat with some inventory stuff.

The stealth will feel much more varied now. I liked it a lot in Noir.

I think story will be a big improvement.

FINALLY they're doing the spider sense right!

The city looks better than TASM but too brownish and empty.

Welcome to SHH!

I like you.

My brother has a degree in game art design. After years of sitting up with him while he did homework, I had no choice but to understand what the heck he was doing so it would all make sense lol.

On that note, I do not mean for my aforementioned post to suggest that I am one of those "PC gaming master race" clowns. I also play video games on the Wii, and that is certainly not a graphics power house. But it is always problematic to me when people get so hung up on graphics and elitist mentalities rather than addressing the rest of what makes a game enjoyable.

**** graphics, for me they're good enough not to distract from the gameplay so I'm happy with it.

Amen! :)

You know? I've been waiting for a Spider-Man game that looks like the movie CGI for a long time now, but you have to be realistic here.
It's a game made for last gen in a short amount of time. Maybe I'll get my wish around Spider-Man 4.
But for now, I am content with this. Beenox really did their best to please the fans.
Not a lot of companies can say that unfortunately.
