Annnnddd the resident game critic has still yet to respond to my points about why this looks horrid and continues to indulge in acting like a child.

Moving on....

You guys can have fun convincing yourselves that this even looks halfway to mediocre. I'll be in the General Discussion thread.

Judging a game without playing it..smart. Taunting people who actually want to play this game and have positive things to say, now who's immature?

The game looks good to me lol.

Man people are being so tough on this game...jeez.

Game doesn't look bad. I enjoy the improvements so far. I'll probably pick it up.

Yeah, but I still think we need to play it to know truly what it's like. But I understand the concern as I share some of it. I really wanted them to get rid of the dive/gliding thing.

I disagree. I can watch someone else play it and know what's it's like. I would like to watch someone who knows what they are doing. It's not about the feeling. It's all visual and what the game has to offer. So I don't agree with playing ourselves. A skilled player walkthrough is what they need to show.

Fair enough, luckily we should be getting one.

Yeah, so you were definitely that kid in grade school who claimed his dad worked at Nintendo....

I wish. He was schizophrenic and kidnapped me.

Nah, let's real talk though.

My first post said people shouldn't expect Arkham Knight in terms of visuals as it is a multiplat game movie game (which means restricted time and budget) on 8 year old consoles. You chimed in saying hundreds of PS3 games look better and to "not start". I agreed, they do. However they don't have the same limited resources or time constraints. I added in my experience as I have a lot of time as a journalist. I've talked with developers. I've seen them at work. I know what they go through. You told me this experience meant **** and to shut up unless I want to talk about the game. Which is ironic, because when I talked about the games visuals (to which you say you think they are slightly better) you told me to shut up.

Then there was this huge cascading debacle where you wanted to pin this on me.

You talk about cars. A man who distributes parts enters the discussion. He has a viewpoint you do not. You tell him no one asked his profession and to get the **** out. Interesting.

So yes, your aimless berating does demand I sink down to your level.

Then you do seem to want my opinion on other gameplay mechanics so badly, which is real weird all things considered but... sure. I can discuss that if you can temper your temper. Cool. Free roaming seems pretty neat in terms of acrobatics and maneuvers. However, my points of contention come in with combat which looks oddly sluggish when compared to the previous entry. Spidey moves like a brick and the increased enemy types do little to spice up combat but actual defer from the simplistic brawler nature the first one had kind of encapsulated pretty well. Suits are a neat addition but again, sometimes more is less and hero vs. menace system scares me because it does detract from the experience if I cannot ignore random crimes. Lest we forget, Pete's a young guy with **** to do. So I really don't want to be jumping on cars and playing crappy mini-games for 10 hrs just so task forces don't hit me out of the sky or something.

Still, for what it is, a movie game made for me... a Spider-man fan. I'm pretty stoked. Professionally cautious and personally excited.

P.S. I would advise you look into Xanax. I know you didn't ask though, but seeing as we've debated this train of logic you've laid down for me I think I'd have just as good a perspective as a psychologist with years of background, experience and education on me. I honestly got nothin' against ya guy, you're just screaming and *****ing a lot for no reason at me. So it's kinda fun to play with that situation.

its called tough love lol it looks ok to me but from what i've seen I only like
from looks to be weather changes
interactions
sling shot
Spidey needs to do more than just dodge roll
I wasnt a fan of the combat style Spidey is not Batman

I'm more interested in player playthrough's than anything. They will break the game down very well.

I did however like the scenery and how not every thug battle looked the same. I liked the fenced in area and I think the landscape looks a lot better.

Do you mean the Arkham like fighting? Because that does suit Spider-man, I mean it makes perfect sense that he can dodge an attack from behind with his spider-sense. I remember when Arkham Asylum came out and people were saying "Since when did Batman have spider-sense?" Don't get me wrong it's perfect for Batman too.

I couldn't agree more. Dodge roll Dodge roll Dodge roll. Who did the research on Spidey before building their titles? Spidey is acrobatic. The stop and start combat looks like it wasn't changed at all. Imo the first games combat wasn't bad but it felt to automatic at times and it wasn't very fluid or very elaborate except when the signature moves were activated. And remember that was all THE GAME and not the player.

I sent SevenWebHeads the link to the video eariler, surprised he hasn't made a video on it yet, he's usually really fast with the news.

Did some more viewing of the footage. Again it looks like you are not in control of Spiderman's most important feature. WEBBING! Spidey dodges the knife guy and then the GAME web's him and then flings him into the wall just like ASM1.

I mean did you guys think it was a little weird how in the gameplay shown Spidey never did ONE web rodeo or webbed a guy up?????

IMO the combat system should be exciting! Anyone remember the scene in the first movie were he takes down the SWAT? That was cool and Spidey was acrobatic! He wasn't just walking around and dodging...

He needs to be fluid and the next company needs to come up with a whole new way of fighting and fluidity and plus Spidey needs to be fast and i'm not settling for what I know what Spidey can truly be and i also agree more acrobatic and fight like a spider

@95 i'm sorry man but I wont even allow them to have that and i'm not settling for it because I know what Spidey is capable of but to me its not meeting what I feel spidey is capable of so i'm not goin to settle for what they give if I believe its not meeting what I want in a spidey game but im glad your happy about it

Yeah but it's not very fluid and Spidey is too stiff. That's the main problem. He's not Batman. I mean Nightwing and Robin are more agile than Spidey. That's a problem.

Exactly....like I said he's too straight up 90% of the time.

I don't like games that copy off another but does something more unique

Yup. It's like they still don't get it and I find that sad. Now I have to wait another 3 years and hope either they do or someone else understand's what it takes to make a GREAT Spiderman game.

I applaud them for their effort but their best bet is to leave activision

PC for me, unless I get wind of the game performing poorly on PC. For all of the power of the platform, some games are simplyl poorly coded. Spider-Man Web of Shadows for instance, is a title I would recommend on consoles before I would recommend it on PC. On the PC, the game has major frame rate issues, even with powerful rigs. And while the graphical fidelity is still better on the PC, the playability is spotty.

So, for now, PC is my target platform for this game. But that could change...

Alright.

Yeah, I'm also not quite sure if I'll be getting it for PC or PS4, yet.

I mean, it will probably look noticably better on PC, but after the first ASM game's bad PC port... I don't know anymore.
