The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Video Game Thread - Part 6

Just watched a complete walkthrough. Too short to spend 60 bucks

I have to ask, why? I mean I watched the first 15 min, and some free roam vids, but I would not want to spoil the whole story. To me a video game is like a book or movie, I don't want to know the whole thing before I play it.

On a side note: was it the same length as the first one? the walkthrough people haul through it? side missions, etc. As long as it is more then 5 hours and as interesting as the first 15 min where il be happy. Rather short and good then long and filler: Im looking at you spiderman 3.

probably be 9 to 10 hours.. finding all the collectibles will take some time though, I put damn near 30 hrs in to the first game collecting everything and getting the plat.

Sounds good, as long as the web swinging is fun I will end up putting in a lot of hours.

I am in the $20 camp, but I mean, this time-metric always bugged me. $60 for 3hrs was the standard back in the day, but you replayed it hundreds of times. Spider-man 2, without all the dang grinding is short as heck and ultra-padded to fill out time. A condensed product isn't exempt from a $60 price tag. If time = price then I'd never buy anything on my PS3/360/PS4 most of which amount to a good 8-10hrs compared to the 25+hrs I have spent on Wii U games, or the 600-frickin-hours I spent in Oblivion.

But I mean, if it's an underwhelming few hours, I getcha. Besides if you walked the whole walkthrough, I don't see much of a reason to get it.

So are these all the villains in the game?

Shocker (love that design)
Kingpin
Black Cat
Green Goblin
Electro
Kraven
Carnage

Gameplay starts with a forced slow walk :csad:
At least the starting slow walk in the previous game is a cutscene
This....is gameplay.....
I don't like forced slow walks

one of the best games in my opinion of the year, and maybe of the ps3 generation. loved it..

I disagree, but we shouldn't get into the last of us discussion lol.

But it's very over rated. It's good, but not god-tier as many place it lol. If you love slow walking and ladder fetching I guess it's the game for you.

Yea I get ya lol. I'll replay it on PS4 later, maybe I'll have a new perspective. I remember not liking metal gear solid 4 when I first played it, but several years later I gave it another shot and loved it. Maybe it is the hype surrounding the bigger games *shrug*

Anyways, I'm watching a full play through of Spider-Man 3 on x360 and my gawd, so terrible lol.

I'm watching playthroughs of several spider-man games I've gotten rid of over the years. I'm currently actually playing through SM on playstation, then onto SM2 for ps1, then The SM movie games on Xbox.

I'll probably fit in some SM Vs The kingpin on Sega too lol. It's kind of willy nilly now with everything else I have to play! Dark souls 2, TMNT, FFX, Castlevania, and anything X-men coming up in May!

i'm playing through amazing spider-man again and its as fun as i remember. People bashed this game hard but i thought it was really fun.. If this game is half as fun as the first one, i'm going to get my money's worth.. I like the upgrades i;ve read about, such as the suit abilities, etc..

For anyone that's curious, here is everything to do in the game:

They cut down on the comic pages this time. Wasn't it like...750 last time???

Yea I wish I still had it! I was so off and on with it, just wasn't in the mood, or didn't have the time, or just couldn't get into it. It's still going for a good price so I traded it a few months back for more than I paid for it. I kept the slipcover and artwork because I know I'll get it again eventually.

I'm hoping ASM2 really grabs me. I want to be able to invest in it. I really do think the lackluster webswinging in the first turned me off. All I did was collect comic pages and putz about with the same exact animation over and over. No fun lol. The interior levels were just balls IMO, most of it felt like a chore for me. so I'm greatly anticipating the non linear, and outdoor levels in ASM 2 they keep promoting.

Not to mention a proper black suit this time and a great looking movie suit. I think I'll dig this one much more.

comic pages were 700 i believe.. ridiculous amount of time to collect them all. 300 isnt that many in comparison..

I do hope the Raimi suits make their way back in. :D
