As I sit here typing on this thread I remember in '92 when Batman the animated series came on Fox so long ago. Now I think about what characters could or do need a series in the same tone BTAS.

    My first three choices are

Dick Tracy- This scream the Batman treatment with the rogue galley he has plus the bright color of a living comic book this is a no brainer.

Judge Dredd- Heavy Metal meets BTAS with Michael Ironside as Dredd nuff 'said

Hanna Barbera's Superheroes- Space Ghost, Birdman, Hong Kong Phooney, Blue Falcon and Dog Wonder. They are just sitting there waiting to be reused hey Boomrang you want some strong rating from the Gen X "H-B Superheroes on Boomrang"

Scooby Doo Mystery Inc did an episode featuring Blue Falcon and Dog Wonder with Falcon as a parody of a Dark Knight style Batman that was fantastic.

I couldn't see a Dick Tracy cartoon getting made by a major network. Same with Dredd, though a direct to video maybe.

    Dick Tracy definitely.

    Also:

    The Phantom
    Mandrake the Magician
Defenders of the Earth (heck, why not)
    Prince Valiant
Little Orphan Annie (the original strip had some seriously dark Dirty Thirties themes; Daddy Warbucks basically had his own private army of mercenaries)
Johann and Peawitt (the Smurfs franchise spun off from this medieval adventure)
    Robin Hood
    The Three Musketeers
The Arabian Knights (that Hanna Barbara show with the tornado donkey)
    C.O.P.S.

Seeing Space Ghost's cameo in The Brave and the Bold made me want to see a revival.

Dick Tracy will not be done cause of Warren Betty, the director and actor who did the live action film in the 90's still owns the rights to the character.

Yeah, maybe they could base it a little off the DC series from a few years back. The more serious, less campy, take.
Only make it viewable by kids. Something like Gargoyles (the animated series).

I remember when the movie came out I saw they had an animated Dick Tracy so I rented it, my parents did, and I was so disappointed. Tracy was barely in it and sent out these stereotypes to do his work for him. a Batman styled Dick Tracy cartoon would work very well now. I would like to see it at least tried.

Remember during the 90s when Jim Carey had about 3 cartoons based on his movies? the Mask, Dumb and Dumber, and Ace Ventura. They were all cartoons, and I think only the Mask lasted longer than one episode (or season).

Another good Spawn series. With today's animation it would ****ing rock. Also there's a ton of DC characters I'd love to see given great series to Hawkman, Booster Gold, Blue Beetle, Birds of Prey, Flash

Plus Marvel has been pretty neglectful of their animation as well. We need some new quality Silver Surfer, Fantastic Four, Incredible Hulk. Stuff more adult themed too like Xmen was in the 90s. And no ****** cgi 3d animation.

Judge Dredd and Dick Tracy are just screaming for it imo
