IGN's Top 100 Animated Series of All Time

well I feel Gargoyals should have been highter and family Guy is not really top 10 material. seems kinda like a trendy list even if I do agree with the top 2

Clerks TAS had about 5 episodes or so.
the article said they produced 6 episodes, only 2 aired. I'm sure there some sort of cult following for this, but I just don't think a show with only 6 episodes should be in a list like this.

Should be lower. Much, much lower.
i agree, but i feel it should still be on the list.

Some nitpicks about this:

4. Spider-man series should be higher.
3. The first Star Wars: Clone Wars should not be on that list.
2. Scooby Doo should be higher:cmad:
1. Simpsons is overrated:cmad:

96. Star Trek: The Animated Series
89. Star Wars: The Clone Wars
79. Sealab 2021
64. Dungeons & Dragons
61. Count Duckula
21. Star Wars: Clone Wars (the 2003 series)
10. Neon Genesis Evangelion

These do no belong on the list at all.

And this list needs a major rearrangement.:down

I think Sealab 2021 was the adult swim show that didn't make any sense every episode(pretty sure it is), that show belongs on the list......

10. Evangelion.......let's try 200 places up.

This is why no one pays attention to IGN unless it's gaming news.

I'm only critiquing shows I've seen to be fair

Should be higher
92. Rugrats (better than Spongebob)
57. Invader ZIM (I hadn't laughed hard at cartoons for the longest time until this came on)
47. Pinky and the Brain (it should be closer to Tiny Toons and Animaniacs)
45. Gargoyles (best Disney toon ever)
40. Batman Beyond (underrated)
36. Superman: The Animated Series (only slightly higher)
35. Avatar: The Last Airbender (Best Nick show ever. Last half of season 2 and all of 3 are amazing. Best animated hero show outside of DCAU)
8. Futurama (better than Family Guy)

Should be lower
70. Pokemon (not that good)
58. He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (lame)
31. Muppet Babies (I haven't seen this in years but there's better)
25. Robot Chicken (I love it but it's not this good)
21. Star Wars: Clone Wars (the 2003 series) (a 5-10 min episode show shouldn't be this high. Season 3 was good but the movies inflate this)
15. SpongeBob SquarePants (not this good)
7. Family Guy (Pre-cancel, yes. Post-cancel, hell no)

Shouldn't be on the list
89. Star Wars: The Clone Wars (too young. I think the animation is fugly)
80. Alvin and the Chipmunks (sucks)
64. Dungeons & Dragons (only on the list b/c the name is D&D)
59. Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends (another lame 80's show)

Should be on the list
Doug (2 words: The. Beets.)
Rocko's Modern Life (So much innuendo)
Fairly OddParents (one of the best Nick shows in recent memory)
X-Men Evolution (underrated)

I hate you. :cmad::oldrazz:

But I agree on X-Men Evolution.

I wish people would stop complaining about Evangelion's placement on the list. That show is one of the reasons why I decided to become an animation major, so I am glad to see they gave it some love. However, just off the top of my head I can think of four shows that should have been on that list but weren't:

Doug
Roughnecks: The Starship Troopers Chronicles
Sonic the Hedgehog
Recess

Samurai Jack deserves to be much higher on that list.

king of the hill is AMAZING! minus the last like two seasons. those became repetitive and make me want to kill the writers for what theyve done to louanne. it should be higher.

i agree xmen evolution should be on there. and spiderman TAS should be higher, as well as rugrats. i like where spongebob is, and family guy and id prolly bump futurama back a few places. Scooby Doo should be much higher!

King of the Hill doesn't need to be on the list either.:down:down:down:down:down:down:down

Have you even seen the 2003 "Clone Wars" series? Of course it deserves to be on the list. That series was awesome, and it was better than Episodes I and II combined. The new "Clone Wars" series can rot, though. Bleh. :down

Yes I have, and them being better than the first two prequels isn't saying much. They still sucked. Only positive I'll give it is decent, smooth animation.

Wow, Spider-Man TAS deserves MUCH MUCH better.

I dunno. I think it's fine where its at. The voice acting was mediocre at best. I rewatched an episode a few weeks ago and I was like "eeeh...." SSM is much better.

Family Guy and South Park are far too high, Futurama at number 8 is too low, and The Jetsons, barely cracking the top 100? It should be in the top 10.

Ugh, X-Men Evolution was horrible until like, the last 5 episodes. It was like Saved by the Bell with Mutant powers. Complete with cheesey high school cliches that haven't been relevant since the 80s. They made Kitty Pryde a valley girl. "Like umm...totally!" was a common example of her dialogue. Its like they just stole lines from Clueless.

Evolution wasn't horrible. It became really good during the season 2 finale.

Frisky Dingo, really? I guess I should be glad they didn't pick "Assy McGee" or Squidbillies.

Agree on Family Guy 110%. Family Guy is cheap, lazy half-assed writing and the fact that it made the top 50 is a slap in the face to the rest of the shows on that list.
