I think Leonardo DiCraprio would be good.

anything leo can do, Matt Damon can do better. I would pick him, although, I think the ideal choice for an older aquaman is Brad Pitt or Matt Machonahey (sp?)

I think the best way to do aquaman is the younger version with an unknown(Mercy Reef looked good but was canceled), but if it was the older version i would have to choose Pitt although i think ive always thought he would be a good captain america.

I cannot see Leonardo Dicaprio as Aquaman, or any other superhero for that matter. Can't see Matt Damon or Brad Pitt playing Aquaman either.

I'm not saying go for a complete unknown because complete unknowns aren't always reliable, but maybe it would be best to hire someone from overseas, be him European or a New Zealander.

I'd accept Karl Urban as Aquaman.

Alan Ritchson did do a great job. besides Leo is doing Iron Man, which is sad anyway, but come on I want to see a good hero flick!

I thought Robert Downey Jr. was doing Iron Man?

Robert Downy Jr. is Iron Man!! not leo or tom cruise, or any other candidates.

He is for all that I know.

Anyway, Sean Bean would be perfect for me.

Either Alan Ritchson or Justin Hartley. Actually just Alan Ritchson, Justin could be Green Arrow if they made that movie.

Actually, yeah, I could see that. Good call.

Justin Hartley i thought was a good aquaman and yea he could prolly play green arrow. Sean Bean could be a good older aquaman.

The fact that they let Leonardo De Crapio play anything other than maybe a spoiled little wuss is beyond me. The man just can't look tough with that little baby face. Even when they add some facial hair he just comes off looking like a 10 year old dressing up for Halloween.
I think I would have to go with a casting call for unknowns on this one. I can't think of any A-list actors that could pull this off.

They probably will get a unknown, that is the way WB is doing it now. They saw how great it worked for Marvel (X-Men, Spiderman), that is why we got Bale to be Batman, Routh to be Superman.

Even still it's nothing new, Chris Reeves was a unknown until Donner made him Superman, same thing with Keaton.

WB will cast a unknown for the star role in Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, and what ever other movies they do. WB will save the a-list for supporting characters (Spacey, Freeman, Hackman, Caine.)

To be honest with you, I think the WB will do something like this, they will look at both Alan Ritchson and Justin Hartley and probably go from there, which means it will probably be Ritchson because Hartley is doing a great job as Green Arrow.

Keaton was already known by the time he got cast. He was the star of many famous comedies in the 80's and entered BeatleJuice with Tim Burton. He also had received the best actor award by the critics association for Beetlejuice and Clean and Sober.

Correct! But because of his typecasting as a comedic actor to that point, it surprised and upset many a fan when Keaton was cast as the Dark Knight. To my mind and many others however, He has proven to have been the best of the lot playing the adult Batman. Bale was not a complete unknown either. Sometimes it is just better to find an unknown who can do be the character instead of making the character over to allow a star to play the part (Halle Berry as Catwoman and Storm, Jessica Alba as Sue Richards).

I thought Beetlejuice was made after Batman.
The point I was trying to make with Bale is that he wasn't that well known, before Batman he was in American Pyshco, The Machinest, Reign of Fire, not so popular films.

I agree with you inspiritonly they shouldn't make the character just for the star. I believe that is Marvel's downside right now.

Why can't we go with this:

instead of the original version? Aquaman's original look just doesn't translate well into modern times.Aquaman looks like a nancyboy with the beachboy blond hair and the gold sequins (yeah, I know they are supposed to be scales). The character will have to be ameliorated with a large dose of testosterone before he will make it to the big screen.

Yes he can act, he was in both the Underworld movies, he was also in the movie Dark Blue with Kurt Russell, (which was a good movie)
