The Arrow's Tip: Official Thread

The problem is Zatanna and Hawkman require a stronger backstory that just to randomly show up with GA; since once is tied to Mystics and Magicians and the other is tied to an alien civilization.

Black Canary is a meta-human; like practically all the guest characters on SV. Easily to intergrate into GA's return.

The only problem, if any, bring Black Canary to Smallville, would be the Batman restrictions DC put on this show. I thought any Batman related characters can not show up, so wouldn't Black Canary be considered one of them? Still I could be wrong...

I'm fairly certain the batman restrictions are only on characters that are in the feature films. IE no Batman or Bruce Wayne. I'm gonna go ahead and assume that includes Harvey Dent and Joker, now as well.

Maybe a circus should come to Smallville, featuring the Flying Graysons o.O

I'm 98% sure that Canary is her own legal property. and one that i'm guessing doesn't have a film in the works. If they wanted her, they could probably get her.

Yeah Canary isnt part of the Bat Embargo.

I'd be cool with Oliver bringing in Roy Harper too.

And that's why Zatanna won't be appearing . (She apart of The Bats mythology .)

Black Canary is apart of Green Arrow's .

I see.... I always thought the Birds of Prey were all under Batman......

Its so Black Canary. Its obvious.

You know I never thought about her, but that's probably the most logical choice. Although I still think Vixen would be a cool choice too (yeah me and my one man crusade to put the character on the show) ;)

Zatanna
Hawkman
The Atom

Hawkman would be . . . weird, idk. I'm all for Zatanna and Atom though

actually, for all extensive purposes they're probably all under a 'birds of prey' legality. Which is likely why they were allowed a tv series (although quickly ended) while the bat movie franchise was still a go.

I support it. I'd love to see how many 'jungle fever' lines Chloe can cram into one episode.

Kevin Smith to direct Comic Book Movie… Super Max?

Clerks filmmaker Kevin Smith has revealed that he may be doing a Comic Book movie after all. Smith, was originally attached to write and direct The Green Hornet, bowed out after fearing that he would not be able to handle a big budget action movie. Of course, Smith has already lined up his next two films over at The Weinstein Co: a romantic comedy titled Zack and Miri Make a Porno, followed by a horror film titled Red State. But after that, Smith says he might do a superhero flick.

“I think that by that point, by my 10th film, I’ll be ready to take on something that is very visually oriented,” Smith told Wizard. “The 10th movie I think is going to be a comic book movie - not “The Green Hornet,” though. There’s something that we’re kind of negotiating on right now which would actually be pretty cool. I don’t know what the audience for it would be, but I would dig making it because I’ve always been a fan of the character. I can’t say what it is though, because they haven’t locked it in.”

Fck yeah!!!! Thank you God, if he works on this project it's going to be one of the best superhero films- ever!!!!!!!!

After hearing Smith joking lecture on making comic book movies. I have my doubts as much as I love his other works.

I've heard good things about his run on the Green Arrow comic series. There's no doubt he knows the character.

Writing a comic and making an action movie are two entirely different things. Something Smith himself points out in the lecture on AN EVENING WITH KEVIN SMITH. It's either volume one or volume two.

I'd post a link here but the comments he makes on the video aren't within the standards of the board.

Just run a search on YouTube looking for Kevin Smith Comic Book Movies.

If he's improved and ready for that department then I'm all for it, but writing comics and making different types of movies are two different things. Smith's more of head talking movie maker according to the EVENING because he basically hates breaking down action shot after action since it takes forever and a day to do.

Then again he has just directed his first action based pilot:

According to NewsAskew.com and Kevin Smith himself, Smith has directed the pilot for a CW network show called Reaper. Tv.com's summary of the show is 'A twenty-something slacker finally scores a job as the devil's bounty hunter.' He describes it as "less Brimstone or Dead Like Me and more like Shaun of the Dead than anything else". He also goes on to say that the reason he took the job is that he has always wanted to direct something he did not write, but never had an interest in doing it on the big screen.

Added to that:

At the 2007 San Diego Comic-Con, it was announced that Kevin Smith would write and direct an episode of the Heroes spin-off, Heroes: Origins.[21] Smith is the first director officially announced for the series.

So maybe Smith has come around in his time since the EVENING HARDER WITH KEVIN SMITH.

And for the record he's covered Daredevil, Green Arrow and Spider-man: Black Cat, although that one took forever to finish. In comic book format. Just setting that record straight.

Yah, I've watched the Evening with Kevin Smith movies. I'm well aware that he felt he should leave the big action movies up to other directors after what happened with Green Hornet. However, all of his jokes at his own expense aside, i'm sure if he felt comfortable enough to take the job, that he's willing to put the work into it to take it where it needs to go.

Yea, Kevin Smith went on record saying he was done with the view askiew universe after "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back"...but then he changed his mind and made CLERKS 2.

I'll believe anything at this point.

This doesnt seem like a big film though. It will probably be the DC version of Die Hard. Just your regular action film with Arrow thrown in.

Sweet! Kevin Smith is the man!

Any news about this SuperMax/Green Arrow/C-list DC Villians movie progressing is good news!

GREEN ARROW ON THE BATMAN

Chris Hardwick is providing the voice of Green Arrow

Green Arrow will be spotlighted in an episode of Kids' WB!'s The Batman this season.

The episode was written by Stan Berkowitz.

"It's Oliver Queen, there was no other choice," Berkowitz said. "I grew up with the Silver Age, so there's just no way we could have done anything else but Oliver Queen.

"The part that I enjoyed most about the Green Arrow script is that it's an origin tale. I think that one of the problems that DC has, in comparison to Marvel, is that the Marvel people have better origins. By that I mean, more painful origins. And that may be why there may be so many more Marvel guys in the movies, where DC has had only Superman and Batman -- so far.

"This is our little effort, I think, to try to change that."

Berkowitz said the Green Arrow story was difficult, with the last revisions on the script made just 15 minutes before recording.

I would have loved to have seen what he would have done with Superman without the big spider and the no flight and tights rule from Jon Peters.

Thanks Kal. I'm always running behind on the current arcs, thanks to having to wait out trades with my work and college schedule. Great to finally see the acceptance at last.
