OUCH. Wow so I was unaware that the point of my thread was to impress YOU. To be quite honest with you, I really couldn't care less what you think of my work. I thought you'd be able to contribute something a little better than "I don't believe you" but apparently I overestimated you.

In reality it really doesn't matter what you choose to believe because while you're sitting here bashing me, you're busy ripping off Hellboy and turning him into "Lobsterboy"...I mean if you're going to talk originality, at least make him look different for crying out loud!

Whatever man, it's blatantly obvious no one is commissioning you for anything which is why you're so pissed off. I'd LOVE to see some of your "quality" vector art....willing to share with us?

BTW, I'll be sure to phone WB and inform them that you disapprove of those pictures of Routh, I'm sure they'll rush to change it.

You know what, pretty much everything I said was mean spirited and rude. I'm pretty cranky and more than a little hungover. So, sorry about that.

I do have valid crits though, which you can choose to ignore if you want

I've never used Illustrator, but guys like our very own Billy do a much better job of making quality three dimensional vector art from photos (I'm thinking of his Bettis pic here) Your Superman comes off as flat and uninteresting because you only used two colors to create shadows. There should be atleast 3 colors (highlight, normal and shadow) and they should have more contrast between them than the two colors you used here.

Again man, sorry for being so rude, although I really don't believe that someone actually commissioned this. I have done a few "commissions" for friends and family and I try to give them the best quality stuff I can do.

And Lobsterboy was a joke, made for one of the contests. It's just a picture of Hellboy dressed as Lobster Johnson:P

SOB, you've been on these boards for a while now. Why is it whenever someone attacks you, you always stoop as low as to attack them back in the same, immature manner? It's really putting you in a bad light. If you disagree, you should just shrug it off and take what criticism you can from it.... Unless it's something that you yourself seem to think is true, in which case that would explain why you get so defensive...And Ampersand, you really were coming across as overly harsh and critical. We can all tell from the way SOB posts, and from the quality of his artwork that he is still going through adolescence, and is probably no older than 17. Kids are still in an impressionable state at that age and are quick to anger, even the TRUELY talented ones like Bane. Just take it easy with SOB, we all know he isn't going to change. His art not getting any better is a testament to that.

In addition. SOB, the color tones on your faces are all wrong. They are far to pasty. Take a look at skin very closely and try to match the colors. You should have at least three colors (base, shadow and highlight) probably more. You can barely even see any facial features.

See now I can respect someone that will admit they were a little over bearring with the remarks earlier, and I know how cranky a bad hangover can make you so I accept your apology, and you have now gained respect from me for doing that.

Yes your critiques are valid and I will take them into consideration. Whether or not you choose to believe this was commissioned or not is really irrelevant so we'll just leave it at that.

BTW here's a quickie I did for a friend of mine. He's pretty much in love with Randy Orton (WWE wrestler) so I did a spoof of him doing the "legend killer" pose wearing the suit that he bought for our trip to Vegas this weekend....he thought it was funny.

And here's a caricature I did of a friend of mine. Originally I was going to hide one of her eyes underneath her bangs, but when I colored it I just took the one eye, copied it and flipped it, it just seemed to look better that way:

But anyway...everyone seems to be in the arguing mood when online. It's not that anyone is sensitive or anything, it's just that this is the 'net, so everyone has that "Who the **** cares if I piss people off?" attitude.

If people wanna argue, let 'em. I highly doubt this effects anyones emotions once they click off-site.

Can i just say that your pencils are WAY more awesome than the vector stuff. I understand that vector is the way you are doing stuff at the moment- but I would like to see you do some more traditional art. Vectorising tends to suck the life out of your lines.


I guess what im saying is- More pencil, Less Computer.

I see what you mean, but just to clarify....vector art isn't just something I'm "doing at the moment" actually I've been using Illustrator for the better part of 6yrs so I'd say it's pretty much a main part of what I do.

However perhaps I will take your advice and do some more pencil work. I actually have a ton of stuff I've never posted because I usually tend to just color it THEN post it, so maybe I'll LINK it....haha.

Thought I'd give you guys an update. Now this hasn't been added to my site yet which is why the picture is embedded in my post rather than linking it (those of you who hate my linking don't get too comfortable because this is NOT going to be a regular occurance). I literally just finished this picture about 5min ago, and I was pleased with the end result because I managed to get it completely done in under an hour.

Anyway I hope you guys like it....
