I gotta tell you, I've only watched the first episode so far (gonna start the rest soon) and that was the perfect one to watch before bed last night without jumping into the season fully. It's like if a "Previously On..." recap for a show was an art form.On the strength of that oddly satisfying opener, I’m going to be saying “yes chef” for 24 hours.
Dude, you actually cooked these? Respect on both the food and photography. The plating on the duck breast is especially nice.Had to binge at least the first four… woah.
One was a masterpiece, two was soooo good. Three was next level stressful. And four, ****.
Carmy leaving that voicemail for Cousin and not Claire is a 10/10 joke.
I insist that you get ****ed, my good man.
Josh ****ing Hartnett.
COUSIN ****TING ON MICHELIN STARS BECAUSE ITS AN INFERIOR TIRE COMPANY IS HILARIOUS
Also, I was trying to be fancy this week leading up to the new season;

I loved it… just finished. Holy moly.Finished it, the Natalie episode or the Tina episode or even the recap episode might be the pick for next year's Emmys. I think this is the season where some people probably will have a slight backlash because of how "repetitive" the storyline progressed and especially how it ended on a cliffhanger of sorts. To me, this feels like an epic mixtape of previous storylines and it's super keen on perspective and life and death stuff. It's obvious they're setting up the 4th season with this so they do a lot of wandering around trying to keep this ship from not sinking. And some people will say this season is super reliant on cameos but to me those work even more because they all do something with them like the Natalie episode. Overall, loved it tho.
I'm almost there. I just finished episode 8.Dude, the finale had needle drop after needle drop.
If he was a true Fak they'd have given him some facial hair.and of course John Cena is a Fak
I loved the "Laid" singalong they were having. I also loved seeing Olivia Colman letting loose and embracing her inner PC Doris Thatcher again in that scene.Dude, the finale had needle drop after needle drop.
For me, I was lucky because I had a few days off from work and was able to watch the whole season in a few days.I watched the first three episodes (how do you guys blow through them so quickly?)
With Storer's sister being a chef, the show is usually pretty spot on when it comes to industry stuff, but Carmy's whole strategy for getting a Star has a big issue with it.
Carmy decides he wants to change the menu every day as part of his non-negotiables. There are some big name restaurants that do that. However, a big part of getting Stars is consistency. Constantly changing the menu and experimenting completely undermines that.
That sort of experimental approach is a big part of the reason why Noma took over a decade to go from Two to Three Michelin Stars despite being named by other organizations as the World's Greatest Restaurant.
By constantly changing the menu, Carmy completely undermines The Bear's ability to develop consistency. The show does a great job of that problem, but it is so weird to me that Carmy even tries to go there. Yes, we know he is a mess this season, but I would at least expect Syd to call him out on it more directly.
