The Best Comic Book Shop/Store

I've never been to a comic shop. :csad:

Now that's truly a pity. My fav is a guy that run's it out of his basement, he has a separate entrance off the street. You go in, it's like entering a cavern of boxes. Fantastic and great prices too, he'll even place orders for hard to find items for you. Though I always buy from his discount bins.

And you're sure that isn't a front for his collection of snuff films?

:D trust me. There is no room left in that shop. He has displays of recent / high priced stuff, but I love the boxes. I usually fill up a box with discount items - buying 50 / 100 comics in a go. hmmm... his next sale is in December... I wish my calendar wasn't sooo crowded. Maybe after Christmas... hmmm...

comic relief in berkeley ca

Dr.comics & Mr. games in peidmont ca

I definitely came here to post that. Though, some of the kids that work in there these days are lacking the comic book knowledge. I like my comic book store employees super nerdy and knowing everything there is to know, a thank you.

On the plus side, it's one of the few comic book stores I can go into as a female and not get gawked at since the Snail is a bit of a tourist draw/queen west establishment.

I would also highly recomend the Hairy Tarantula. There are also a few good stores on Younge street north of College.
Hairy Turantula is good also. Ive only been there once, but 3rd Quadrent seems to be pretty decnet as well.

For me its Silver Snail, Yesterdays Heroes(havent been there in years though) and a small one on younge st., Dragon Lady.

Now that's truly a pity.
I know. :waa:

I still have over 250 comic books. Maybe 350. I went to the flea market every other weekend for a month and I came within two feet of buying a Fantastic Four #48 for around $55, but some guy had it reserved. :down

But I still bought The Amazing Spider #28, #30, #32, #36, #50, #121 and a few others for $50 (the only that was really in good condition was #121, but it was a huge bargain).

There are tons of comic stores here in Pittsburgh. However, the one that gets held close to my heart is The Time Tunnel which no longer exists today but back in the 90's it was a great place to go. It looked like this little crappy house but inside was all this comic book goodness that I yearned for week after week after week.

These days it's Phantom of the Attic, Eides Entertainment, or New Dimension Comics. I have to say I am partial to New Dimension now they always have a great selection of newer issues and back issues. Eides' back issues are way too expensive.

I used to go to the Portsmouth location back when I lived in VA. I was good friends with the crew, and would often stomp players in Magic: The Gathering. They had a decent selection of new and used, as well as some other merch, like shirts and Warhammer.

Oh my God! Magic the Gathering!! :wow:

That brings back some old memories. I used to play that back in like '95 and '96. I remember selling my card collection to this one guy for like 500 bucks. I had a lot of rare cards. But man oh man. The hours upon hours of playing and then when you lose i would throw things at people, haha.

I went to one in reading, it was glorious, it felt like an art exhibition.

They didn't have mass quantity or a range but what they did have was well presented in a nice spacious room where you didn't feel like a pervert

sometimes when looking for singles in those boxes, you feel like a pervert fingering all the individual issues. There were no such boxes with the issues booked up and placed in these large books you could open up.

i had to share my love for the design to the owner, it's definitely the best feeling comic store i have ever been to

I still play with a group of friends to this day. There was a thread about the game a while back, maybe I should find it.

I like this comic shop is Tuscaloosa ,Alabama it has all kinds of variety new and old and the people working there know what they are talking about they aren't hired for no reason at all.

Midtown Comics in Manhattan. Only been once but it's like the Mecca of comic book stores

There's a comic book store in Georgetown(MD/DC area) that's really cool too. It's long and narrow
Midtown comics, they've always had the book I wanted everytime i went there.

I only make it to the comic store once in a Blue moon. I think I have only been there twice and don't know the name of the one I go too.

I get all my Comics and Graphic Novels From Board's, Barns & Noble, and Books A Million.

In the early 80's I lived in Rantoul Illinois . I used to drive to Champaign to a great shop there. Don't know if it still exists but I remember it being worth the trip

I usually go to bulletproof comics in brooklyn when I cant make it to the city, so its usually midtown comics for me when it comes down to it. But silverage comics isnt bad in queens
Thats the only one I go to because my school is right there.

Forbidden Planet in Leicester. Full of friendly, helpful employees who have lots on offer. Without fail, I'd at least go 3-4 times a week.

I have another LCBS somewhere else in the city, who are at least a week or two behind in shipping - and are way overpriced, that it baffles me as to why they still make business.

there use to be this place in the next town called KK's comics. I loved it, walls of little figurein things for tabletops games, isles and isles of .25 comics and even an adult section.
